Denial Of Self And Collective Agreement

My father once asked me why I stopped at stop signs. Was it because I was afraid of getting in an accident or was it because I was afraid of getting a ticket? Such a simple question! But it accurately describes today’s social situation. I told him that neither reason was why I stopped at stop signs. I stop at stop signs because all drivers have collectively agreed to cooperate and follow the rules of the road for the general safety and well-being of everyone. I was not acting out of fear as my father suggested, but out of a sense of cooperative effort! I’m sure most other drivers feel the same way!

In looking out for our own self interests it often happens that what’s best for us is best for others as well and often what’s best for others is also best for myself. These are the times when collective agreement is appropriate and very self empowering. At these times a win-win situation exists for both the individual and for the collective. The point is that we don’t need to deny ourselves and surrender to some collective agreement that we are not in agreement with. The individual is much more powerful than one might suspect. But someone always needs to be the first to stand up against something that is unfair or outright harmful.

The individual can fight the collective to a standstill, but the individual can never win! This needs to be clearly understood. But there are times when it is appropriate for the individual to stand up against the unthinking mob and resist it. Sometimes a stalemate is the only solution available, but sometimes that is just what is needed.

Dualistic thinking needs to be replaced with more integrated thinking. It is common to believe that one must choose between materialism or spirituality because it is not believed possible to possess both. That defies personal experience. I know just as many spiritual people that are comfortably well off as I do greedy materialists that are also well-to-do. At the same time I know many spiritual people that are quite poor and I also know just as many non-spiritual people in poverty as well. There is something wrong with this entire concept of self renunciation where the spiritual person must renounce the things of the physical world and the materialist must renounce things of the spirit in order to amass riches in this world.

These are both stereotypes that are false and misleading! They are both traps where both types of people are required to sacrifice to some higher external goal, in one case to sacrifice things of the spirit to get worldly riches and in the other case to sacrifice physical desires for the salvation of the soul. Where’s the win-win situation? Do you see what’s happening? We are deliberately being led to believe that a win-win situation does not exist and cannot exist! We are deliberately being led to believe that one must choose between one or the other and that no compromise is possible.

There is always room for collective agreement!

The Danger Of A Moral World

This is a difficult post to write but it is a very important one! There is a very real danger in today’s modern world for the individualist. Not only is there a public denial of the soul and non-physical realities, but denial of any religion and divine essence at all. There is a large enough difference between the spiritual person that tries to follow the still small voice of conscience in their heart and the congregation of pious churchgoers that believe devoutly in the truth revealed in the Scriptures. One is a mystic and the others followers. One believes in carrying their own cross while the others believe in clinging to a cross that is not their own.

But they are both treated the same by the rational atheists of today’s modern world. Human morality is no longer determined by one’s conscience or even by Scripture. Human morality is now determined by humans! And that is a very dangerous state of affairs! The power to determine morality has been taken away from the conscience and taken away from religion. The power to determine morality has now been placed in the hands of politicians and social activists! We are already seeing the beginnings of politically correct morality and to me it seems pretty ugly!

Morality by its own definition seeks to define the highest in humanity so how can it be determined by the lowest common denominator? To make matters worse politically correct morality has the power of becoming our new all-encompassing social religion! When morality conquers spirit there is a change of masters! How can the lowest common denominator speak for the highest within the individual? The answer is that it can’t! We are going in the wrong direction!

I was taught that the most powerful way of influencing others was to set a good example for them by my own actions and words. I think the worst way of influencing others is by passing lowest common denominator moral laws and forcing people to follow them!

Bad Or Good In The Eye Of The Beholder

There is so much hypocrisy today that swings between the extremes of deceiving others and self-deception. Crippled by the curse of riding on the fence it wobbles between one extreme and the other not daring to fully commit. Take the example of free speech as a human right. People are willing to proclaim free speech as a human right, but not willing to allow others with differing opinions true freedom of speech. They give lip service to it without fully committing to it and without fully believing in it.

Basically, they would like to have freedom of speech and freedom of will without having the moral will to follow through! It remains a sacred idea without becoming physical reality. You will say that you believe in freedom of speech and so will your opponent. But you both walk away from each other thinking the same thing, that the other has something evil up their sleeve and is not to be trusted or believed no matter what they say.

Why not simply admit that each one of us is just looking out for our own interests? Is it necessary to call someone who thinks differently than we do our arch enemy and demonize everything they have to say? Is true freedom of speech that frightening? Can’t we even consider the possibility of a win-win situation?

We believe in the politically correct even when it goes against our own instincts, our own life circumstances and life experience until someone braver than us stands up against it and gives voice to our own secret thoughts, beliefs and life experience. Then we all jump up on the new bandwagon and there is a revolution!

But this revolution always begins as something that is immoral, against the law, against social morays and is not politically correct! But when the revolution succeeds it has become moral, the new law, the new social custom and is now politically correct! How does that happen? It happens when one person stands up against the mob and against what is considered politically correct! It happens when one person dares to tell the truth!

But this obsessive thought persists, that if enough people jump on the bandwagon that makes something right, makes it moral, makes it just, makes it law, and makes it good! They don’t realize or admit even to themselves that each individual determines what is right for them, moral for them, just for them, allowed by their own conscience and the right thing for them to do as an individual.

Luci

It’s Saturday morning 9/9/17 and there is something in the air that makes me pretty quiet. On this day an entire state and the lives of all that live in that state will be changed forever. Kind of humbling don’t you think? My heart goes out to all in harms way today, wherever they may be. My thoughts and prayers as well.
Whatever we may think or do we are all a part of each other and when one of us suffers we all feel it on some level. Perhaps “there is a disturbance in the force” is what I’m feeling. But I’m sending all the love and light that I can! There is a way to get through this by joining together and forgetting, if just for these few hours, those things that have split us apart.

Creating A Moral World
So what’s the plan? We have seen how they are trying to do away with spirituality and replace it with morality. What’s that about? How will it work? Perhaps we can predict the outcome by recognizing the larger pattern.

Under the old spiritual model if we give in to our human passions and desires we are immoral. If we develop strength of will, resisting our human passions and desires, and instead follow the still small voice of our conscience that speaks within our hearts we are acting in a moral way. No wait! I have that wrong! If we follow the 10 Commandments or some other religious doctrine that tells us what is right and what is wrong, then we are acting in a moral way. So being moral means to follow the law, God’s law.

This is an important clue! Apparently immorality is about breaking the law, not about whether the law is just or unjust, God’s law or human law. If you break the law you are not moral! It’s all black and white, that simple! That means good is nothing other than legality and morality is nothing other than adherence to the law. And the person who carries the law most strongly within their heart is the one who is the most moral! So we have come to the point where we are supposed to ” live for the law”.

But what if you don’t like the new law? What if you feel it is wrong down deep in your heart? That doesn’t matter! The morality of the law is to be held intact regardless of your own feelings about it! But what if your own will is so strongly opposed to it that you need to resist? Oh, that’s easy! You can beg for mercy, or beg for forgiveness, or beg to be released. Good luck with that!

In a land of censorship like we are fast approaching, the person who evades censorship is acting immorally and the person who accepts censorship is acting morally. What about the person who sets up an underground press? You would have to call him or her immoral and imprudent as well, especially if they let themselves get caught!

Or perhaps you can do what I’m trying to do, using new words in new ways to share new thoughts!

Morality Versus Spirituality.jpg

I believe in the soul, its powers, and the spiritual or nonphysical worlds. I experience them on a daily basis and to me there is nothing theoretical about them. But it is not politically correct to believe in the soul, the astral planes or spirituality in general. Rational atheists have attacked spirituality and attempted to replace it with social morality! They say that man can live without religion but moral law is eternal and absolute. What they’re trying to do is take the best from religion and spirituality and leave the soul and the nonphysical realities behind.

But it doesn’t really matter because the rational atheists are simply trying to replace one higher authority with another. They are trying to replace a spiritual authority with a moral authority. They are trying to replace a divine authority with a man-made external authority. So there is no longer any need to proclaim that God is love because it has been turned around and the new saying is love is divine! The real truth is that the dominion of morality is just as complete as the dominion of Christianity or any other religion. Dominion is dominion! External authority is external authority!

In the past religion has taught that only faith can reveal truth. Now only human reason can reveal truth. What about direct personal experience? Organic Gnosticism? Direct enlightenment? I guess none of these things exist! What about a truth that is unique to each individual?

Thought, logic and reason, have taken the place of spirituality and religion. The mind is no longer occupied with spiritual things, but is now occupied with mental thoughts that are just as intangible and immaterial. When morality is able to stand on its own apart from spirit it is no longer grounded in the divine. It is no longer spiritual. Man is no longer controlled and directed by God, but controlled and directed by man. But man is still directed and commanded to ignore his own welfare in favor of some higher power!

More About Social Enforcers

Has anyone noticed that it’s impossible to not like someone these days? If you think you don’t like someone then you are sexist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic or a Nazi white supremacist. Have you ever wondered why that is? It’s because there are no longer any individuals in this world! So it’s no longer possible to dislike an individual! How did that ever happen? Apparently your dislike is of a group of people and not of an individual.

Individualism is not even recognized! All there seems to be is fanatical enthusiasm and interest in spiritual movements, moral movements, and social movements. All you have to do is choose which bandwagon you want to jump on! It doesn’t even matter which one you choose as long as you’re not by yourself! Moral faith and social faith are just as radical as religious faith. Personal conviction is not allowed.

What? You say you have a conscience? You want to follow that still small voice that speaks in your heart? That’s not jumping on a bandwagon! That’s an extremely dangerous thing that only individualists do and it can’t be allowed! We are all members of a collective hive mind and there are no individuals. We all have the same thoughts, the same values, the same experiences, and we wear the same clothes and have the same hairdo and listen to the same music.

How many ways can you talk about people without talking about individuals? Apparently there are many more than I thought there was. The problem is that each one of us is an individual! There are individuals that we like and there are individuals that we don’t like. That’s the way it has always been and that’s the way it will always be! I’m getting pretty fed up with “don’t take it personally!”. I think it’s time that we did take these things personally! The individualist is being attacked by all sides! It’s the only thing that these groups of people can agree upon, to destroy the ones that dare to stand alone. To destroy the ones that dare to speak for themselves!

Going Crazy!

The world is going crazy! People imagine all kinds of things that have no basis in reality. They are obsessed with the politically correct! I’m not joking when I say that I consider these people fools, fools in a madhouse! So what is this obsession, that society has been possessed with? What does it mean to be politically correct? There was a time when people were locked up in lunatic asylums because of their obsessions. But in today’s world we are not allowed to say anything against, not to doubt, the politically correct.

Being politically correct has become an obsession. It fills our newspapers and mainstream media with the babble of fools who suffer from the obsession of morality, legality, Christianity and so on. The only reason this is not recognized is because it is taking place on such a large scale. Dare to challenge the beliefs of such fools, and you will have to guard your back against the stealthy attacks of lunatics. For they will attack by stealth anyone who dares challenge their politically correct obsessions.

First they will take away his guns, then steal away free speech, and then they will beat him with hammers and nails. Every day reveals the cowardice and vindictiveness of these crazy maniacs. And the stupid populace cheers at what they are doing! You only have to watch the mainstream media and hear these people talk to get the horrible conviction that you are shut up in a house with fools.

Is there any difference between a poor fool in an insane asylum obsessed with the idea that he is God the father, the Emperor of Japan, the Holy Spirit or some other great being and the citizen obsessed with the conviction that it is his mission in life to be a good Christian, a faithful Protestant, a loyal citizen, a virtuous person? All of these are obsessions and they take possession of one’s soul in the same way.

These idiots never put their obsessions about being politically correct under the searching knife of criticism. Their belief in the politically correct is unshakable, like the delusion of a madman, whose insane thoughts stand on the firm foundation of conviction and upon the sacred! Yes, the obsession about being politically correct is what has become truly sacred in our world!

Is the devil the only one that possesses people and makes them become obsessed with crazy ideas? Why can’t there be people possessed by idealistic and fanciful dreams of goodness and light? Obsessed by glorious ideas and higher causes! Obsessed people are set in their convictions and will not budge. They will not even consider the possibility that they might be wrong. That seems to be what our world has become!
