If we continue the metaphor of the atom and the electron cloud that surrounds it we can generalize to include the soul and its development. The soul is a spark of awareness like an electron. It once was an electron and a spark of divine light.

Through the eons the spark of awareness grew more complex and its awareness included more things. First it was simply a spark of divine light pulsating outward as a photon and then returning to source as an electron.

That was before it started to rotate. Think of the electron and the electron cloud that surrounds the atom. The cloud is made up of magnetic flux lines or astral cords that create the pathways for the electron to travel through.

Perhaps it might help to think of these astral cords as tubes because that is more like what they really are. They are tubes that the electron goes through. These tubes surround the earth and create its magnetic field or aura. These tubes also surround each one of us and create our own aura.

Our awareness travels like an electron through these tubes at the speed of light. As our awareness or soul travels through these tubes around us we have the sensation of being aware of our physical bodies.

The soul is a complex electron which has evolved into a complex plasma like energy that travels through the tubes or astral cords that surround our physical bodies. It can be developed to the point that it can leave our physical bodies and travel through the astral tubes that surround the earth and the tubes surrounding other people.

First the soul can only travel through the tubes that surround the physical body. It only has an awareness of the physical body except at night when it escapes while we are sleeping. In dreams it travels through the tubes that surround the earth. These nightly journeys are astral travels.

I would like to begin this chapter with an excerpt about the Kali Yuga from the book “The yoga of power; Tantra, Shakti, and the Secret Way” by Julius Evola. It will serve as an introduction to some of the concepts that I would like to address later in this post. This excerpt also proves that Organic Gnosticism has been known all through the ages but kept secret.

“The intent was to convey the idea that Tantrism presents an extension or a further development of those traditional teachings originally found in the Vedas and later articulated in the Brahmanans, the Upanishads, and the Puranas. That is why the Tantras have claimed for themselves the dignity befitting a fifth Veda, that is, a further revelation beyond what is found in the traditional four Vedas. To this they added a reference to the doctrine of the four ages (Yugas) of the world. It is claimed that the teachings, writings, and disciplines that would have been viable in the first age (the Krita or Satya Yuga, the equivalent of Hesiod’s golden age) are no longer fit for people living in the following ages, especially in the last age, the dark age (Kali Yuga, the Iron Age, the age of the wolf in the Edda). Mankind in these later ages may find knowledge, a worldview, rituals, and adequate practices for elevating humans over and beyond their conditions and for overcoming death (mrityun javate), not in the Vedas and in other strictly traditional texts, but rather in the Tantras and in the Agamas. It is stated therefore that only Tantric practices based on Shakti (Shakti –sadhana) are suitable and efficious in our contemporary age. All others are considered to be as powerless as a snake deprived of its poison.

Although Tantrism is far from rejecting ancient wisdom, it is characterized by a reaction against (1) a hollow and stereotypical ritualism, (2) mere speculation or contemplation, and (3) any aceticism of a unilateral, mortifying, and penitential nature. It opposes to contemplation a path of action, of practical realization, and of direct experience. Its password is practice (sadhana, abhyasa). This runs on the lines of what may be designated the dry way, resembling the original Buddhist doctrine of the awakening, with its reaction against a degenerated Brahmanism and its dislike of speculations and hollow ritualism. One among the many Tantric texts remarks rather significantly:

It is a womanly thing to establish superiority through convincing arguments; it is a manly thing to conquer the world through one’s power. Reasoning, argument, and inference may be the work of other schools [shastras]; but the work of the tantra is to accomplish superhuman and divine events through the force of their own words of power [mantras]. And also:

A special virtue of the tantras lies in its mode of Sadhana. It is neither mere worship [upasana] nor prayer. It is not limiting or contemplaation or repentance before the deity. It is the Sadhana which is the union of Purusha and Prakrti; the Sadhana which joins the male principal and the mother element within the body, and strives to make the attributed attribute less… This Sadhana is to be performed through the awakening of the forces within the body… This is not mere philosophy, a mere attempt to ponder upon the husks of words, but something which is to be done in a thoroughly practical manner. The tantras say: begin practicing under the guidance of a good guru; if you did not obtain favorable results immediately, you can freely give it up.

Thus tantras often employ an analogy taken from medicine: the efficacy of the doctrine, like a drug, is proved by the results it produces, and in this particular case, by the siddhis, or powers, that it grants. Another text says: ‘Yoga siddhis are not obtained by wearing yoga garments or by conversation about yoga, but only through tireless practice. This is the secret of success. There is no doubt about it.’

In the previous quotation referring to the body, another important point was alluded to. The analysis of the last age, the dark age or Kali Yuga, brings to light two essential features. The first is that mankind living in this age is strictly connected to the body and cannot precind from it; therefore, the only way open is not that of pure detachment (as in early Buddhism and in the many varieties of yoga) but rather that of knowledge, awakening, and mastery over secret energies trapped in the body. The second characteristic is that of the dissolution typical of this age. During the Kali Yuga, the bull of Dharma stands on only one foot (it lost the other three during the previous three ages). This means that the traditional law (Dharma) is wavering, is reduced to a shadow of its former self, and seems to be almost succumbing. During Kali Yuga, however, the goddess Kali, who was asleep in the previous ages, is now fully awake. I will write at greater length about Kali, a prominent Tantric goddess, in the following pages; for now, let us say that this symbolism implies that during the last stage elementary, infernal, and even abyssal forces are untrammeled. The immediate task consist in facing and absorbing these forces, in taking the risk of ‘riding the Tiger’, to use a Chinese expression that may best describe the situation, or to ‘transform the poison into medicine’, according to a Tantric expression. Hence the rituals and special practices of what has been named left-hand tantra, or the path of the left hand (Vama-marga), which despite some problematic aspects (orgies, use of sex, etc.) represents one of the most interesting forms within the trend analyzed in this study.

It is therefore stated – and this is significant – that considering the situation of the Kali Yuga, teachings that were previously kept secret may now be revealed in different degrees, though a word of caution is issued concerning the danger they may represent for those who are not initiated. Hence what we have so far mentioned: the emergence, in Tantrism, of esoteric and initiatory teaching.

A third point must be emphasized. In tantrism the passage from the ideal of liberation to that of freedom marks an essential change in the ideals and ethics of Hinduism. It is true that even previously the ideal of the jivanmukta had been known. The word means one who is freed, that is, the one who has achieved the unconditioned, the sahaja, while alive, in his own body. Tantrism introduces a specification, however: to the existential condition of mankind living in the last age. It relates the overcoming of the anti-thesis between enjoyment of the world and the ascesis, or yoga, which is spiritual aimed at liberation. In the other schools – thus claim the Tantras – one excludes the other, but in the path we follow these opposites meet. In other words, a discipline is developed that allows one to be free and invulnerable even while enjoying the world, or anything the world may offer. In the meantime, the world ceases to be seen in terms of Maya – that is, pure appearance, illusion, or mirage – as is the case in Vedantic philosophy. The world is not Maya but power. This paradoxical existence of freedom, or of the dimension of transcendence in oneself, and enjoyment of the world, freely experimenting with the world’s pleasures, carries the strictest relation with Tantrism’s formula and main goal: the union of the impassive Shiva with the ardent Shakti in one’s being and at all levels of reality.

This leads us to consider a further fundamental element of Tantrism, namely, shaktism. In the complex movement called Tantrism, the central role was played by the emergence and predominance of the figure and of the symbol of the goddess or divine woman, Shakti, in its various epiphanies (especially under the forms of Kali and Durga). She may be either portrayed by herself, as the supreme principle of the universe, or reproduced under the species of multiple Shakti’s, that is, female divinities who accompany male Hindu gods (who had enjoyed a greater autonomy in the previous era), and even various Buddhas and bodhisattvas of late Buddhism. This marked the emergence in a thousand forms of the motif of divine couples, in which the feminine, Shaktic element enjoys a great role, to the point of becoming the predominant element in some of its currents.”

I could not have described the power and practice of Organic Gnosticism more clearly than the above words about Tantrism by Julius Evola. The Kali Yuga is an age and according to ancient texts it is considered the last age of a great cycle. Tantrism is a specialized sacred practice of soul development and spirituality during this last age. In fact, it is believed that no other spiritual or religious doctrines or practices are effective during this time. In fact, all the others are considered to be as powerless as a snake deprived of its poison. This is a very strong statement to make and should be considered carefully. It is against superficial and empty religious practices, against speculation, meditation, and suffering or penitence of any kind.

This practice involves the joining of male and female energies within the body and is not theoretical, but eminently practical and giving immediate results. Again these are strong words to be considered carefully. Tantrism and Organic Gnosticism is clearly a path of action.

Another final point is made. Tantrism is so powerful and dangerous it is to be kept secret in all the other ages and only made available during the Kali Yuga.

This brings up the main question, is the current age which we are living in representative of the Kali Yuga? It also brings up a second question, if so, why are the secret teachings of Tantrism not widely known in today’s world?

This knowledge has always been known and I call it Organic Gnosticism!

It is accepted that approximately every 2000 years a new and higher vibrational energy is introduced into our world. We speak of this happening with the change from one sign of the zodiac to another. We have just left the age of Pisces and entered the age of Aquarius. A great cycle is considered one complete trip around the zodiac.

What is not so widely known is that each age brings in a totally new energy and causes the activation of that energy center or chakra within the human body. The last 2000 years has been dominated by concrete spiritual energy, archetypal thinking, Christianity, Christ consciousness and the development of the third eye. The cycle previous to the last one was dominated by abstract mental energy, philosophy, logic and reason, reading and writing, development of the soul or Observer self and the throat chakra.

With the advent of each new age the energies of the old age are always considered evil and corrupt. They are considered satanic. Followers of the old energies have always been persecuted. During the last age or Christian era it was faith that was most important, not scientific or logical proof. Hairsplitting dialectic arguments were frowned upon as making a mockery of spiritual truths. Both the Jews and Irish at various points in their history were highly literate and suffered greatly because of it. The power of the last age was not in mental creations but in spiritual creations.

The current age, the age of Aquarius, brings in a completely new energy that is higher and more powerful than that of the last age, the Christian age. This is the energy and vibration of unity, the level at which all things merge into spiritual light. It is also the nuclear threshold because mass and energy can be converted for peace or destruction. This is the level of the crown chakra and at this level are opposites are resolved and duality no longer exists. So the next 2000 years will be dominated by the powerful energies of unity and the crown chakra.

Unfortunately, these energies are not accessible to very many life forms. In fact these energies are not accessible to very many humans! So there seems to be a great discrepancy here. What do the energies of Christianity, the third eye and spiritual faith have to do with the Kali Yuga? The last age? More importantly, what do the energies of unity and the crown chakra have to do with the Kali Yuga? It seems that the energies of the Kali Yuga are the lowest possible energies and not the highest possible energies! Aren’t we heading toward a golden age and not a dark age?!

There is also the question of Gaia’s Ascension. How is it that Gaia can ascend on the energies of unity and the crown chakra? The lower life forms on Gaia’s’s surface have no access to such high vibratory energies. How can this mystery be resolved?

The answer lies in the cosmic keyboard itself. There are two types of energies that are active and dominate this new age! They are harmonics and octaves of each other and vibrate in unison as one single energy. They are the highest and the lowest energies possible! The other energy is a vital organic energy of life itself, sexual orgasm energy and it is utilized by all life forms. This energy is the garden of Eden energy and the energy that fuels Gaia’s Ascension. It manifests through the DNA and cellular life of evolving things. Those life forms that cannot access the unity and crown chakra energies have free access to the lower and more primitive vital life force energy! It is abundantly available to all living things. This is sexual orgasm energy! This is Tantric energy! This is the energy of the male and female combined! This is the energy of divine counterparts!

Suddenly things have changed. For those accustomed to the spiritual energies of the third eye and Christianity, or even to the lower mental energies of the throat chakra, the logic and reason in philosophical speculations, these Tantric energies seem of no consequence and unimportant. They are not taken seriously. They should be! These old eon high-level head tripping energies are no longer effective in developing the soul or raising the human condition. They are no longer useful for true empowerment! For those unable to access the unity energies of the crown chakra the next 2000 years is the dark age, the Kali Yuga, the age of dissolution. The only path available for the development of the soul is Tantrism or Organic Gnosticism! For those that can do this earth will become the new garden of Eden’s!

This is the age when gods and goddesses will once more walk upon the earth and mingle with ordinary mortals! These gods and goddesses will be divine counterparts whose individual awarenesses will span the full spectrum of existence, the highest and the lost energies and reveal the complete mysteries of love and sexuality!

Chapter 4

Adam Gardner was very effective in making travel arrangements and in a few hours Tobal found himself with a full stomach, refreshed and once more on an airbus heading toward what he fervently hoped was his final destination.

It was mid April and the sun was shining brightly as the airbus flew east toward the Rocky Mountains. Patches of snow grew the farther they flew until it covered everything in an unbroken blanket. From the air he could see deer sheltered in valleys and herded together for protection against natural predators such as the timber wolf and mountain lion.

Hardwood trees looked like skeletal ghosts as they raised leafless arms to the heavens. There were patches of them scattered like occasional cemeteries hidden within the deep pine forests. The airbus flew low enough that Tobal could make out an occasional fox or wolf. Flying over the wilderness made him realize how far from civilization and the Federation he was going. The pines were dark green and the boughs weighed heavily with snow and blocked all efforts to see the ground beneath. It was almost an hour before he caught his first glimpse of Heliopolis.

From the air the city-state looked huge and modern. He saw one huge complex that must be the living quarters. There was a large open agricultural area and a wooded park. They were all within tall imposing walls that encircled the city itself. To Tobal it didn’t look much different than any other modern city-state he had visited.

As the airbus descended he was surprised the pilot was not taking him into the city but dropping him outside of it into a snow covered courtyard.

“There you go son.” The airbus driver told him cheerfully, “Take care of yourself, they’re a bit strange here. Don’t really see much of anybody. Haven’t been here that much and I don’t want to either.”

The driver opened the door and Tobal stepped outside into the cold winter landscape. It was one o’clock in the afternoon on April 13. The airbus took off leaving Tobal standing in a cloud of snow just outside the high walls.

Tobal began looking for some way into the city. Not finding any, he spied a small building near the edge of the woods about 100 yards away from the wall. He waded through knee high snow toward the windowless dome like structure. There was an arched doorway with a faded snow covered sign.

The snow was so bright it hurt his eyes and he had to squint against it. As he came nearer he made out the word “Sanctuary”. He recalled the letter from his parents had mentioned claiming sanctuary. Somewhat reassured, he entered the portal that opened silently at his approach and stepped inside. It was dim and his eyes took time adjusting to the faint light. He kicked the snow off his boots onto the gleaming tiled floor. To the left, he saw a computer terminal. A light on the consul was flashing urgently.

He walked over to examine the terminal more closely. As he neared it, a disembodied voice came from somewhere near the terminal base.

“Welcome, Welcome.”

“Do you seek Sanctuary in Heliopolis, the city of the sun?” The same words scrolled across the screen.

“Do you seek Sanctuary in Heliopolis, the city of the sun?” A prompt flashed on the screen “Say Yes or No.”

“Yes,” Tobal said. “I claim sanctuary.”

“Then enter here,” an oval door slid open to reveal a small interior lighted room. The door slid closed behind him as soon as he stepped completely into the room.

“What is your name?”

The voice intoned, it was now coming from somewhere ahead of him. What followed was a grueling 70 minute question and answer session in which the computer questioned Tobal about every area of his past and present. There was no place to sit and it was uncomfortable but he was committed at this point. There were questions he could not answer, but that did not bother the computer. Finally the computer turned silent as it processed the information. After a short time it spoke again.

“You must go through processing before you can enter sanctuary. Processing will include detailed medical and psychological examinations. These will be automated. The purpose of these examinations is to ensure the current state of your health. In addition, the information will allow us to better understand your needs and abilities. This will aid us in determining how you will best fit into our society. These examinations will take place within this building and last approximately two days.”

One wall of the small room slid open and a voice prompted him to enter and begin the medical examination. The wall slid closed behind him and he found himself in a small hallway. Another wall section slid open to the right and he stepped into another small room. A drawer slid out from the wall as the voice continued.

“Please place your clothing and personal items into the drawer. You can not take any items into the examinations. Place your items here for safe keeping. They will be returned to you after you have entered Heliopolis.”

Tobal stripped and placed his clothing and boots into the drawer. He carefully placed the medallion under some clothes where it would be hidden and then pushed slightly on the drawer. His plan was to leave the drawer slightly open and retrieve his things after the medical examination. To his horror the drawer kept moving and slid shut with a forbidding “click”. Panicking, he tried to open the drawer and failed. There was no handle and it was almost impossible to see the faint lines indicating it was there at all. He pounded on the wall but it refused his efforts and the drawer remained closed.

“Give me back my medallion,” He sobbed pounding on the unforgiving wall. His voice echoed around the small room and in his ears.

“You may proceed with the medical examination now. We will be starting with a shower.”

A small shower nozzle emerged from the ceiling and began spraying him with tepid soapy water that left his eyes stinging and his lungs gasping for breath. This was followed by a rinse of cold water as distinctly unpleasant as the jets of air that dried him off.

Realizing the futility of further resistance and wiping back an angry tear Tobal finally gave up and concentrated on what lie ahead. He moved from cubicle to cubicle and was given an exhaustive physical exam that lasted several hours. Then he was given a small silver bracelet and instructed to wear it at all times. It was a med-alert bracelet that monitored his physical health and acted as a locating device so he could be found in an emergency.

After the physical examination, he began a series of mental and psychological tests that seemed to last forever. Small breaks were given with food and water appearing out of the wall just like the drawer had. Twice he slept on a cot that slid out of the wall. The first things he learned were the controls to activate the food and water. The bathroom and shower were the next. He lost all sense of time and for two days was moved from one cubicle to another, problem solving, analyzing and doing test questions on a computer screen or taking objects apart and putting them back together again in demonstrations of physical dexterity.

After two days of wearing nothing but a silver bracelet, Tobal was relieved when a drawer opened containing clothing. There was a gray woolen robe that reached to the floor, folded gray blankets of the same material, a pack, a sleeping bag and a pair of hiking boots with several pair of socks. He was busy tying his new boots when a final door opened with a cold draft and the computer voice said.

“Welcome to Sanctuary.”

As the door closed behind him Tobal found himself in dim light standing between rows of sleeping cots. It was a dormitory of some sort. His legs started trembling and he sat down on one of the cots. It was hard and uncomfortable like molded plastic or ceramic. Still shaken by his experience of the past two days, he wondered what he should do now. Sanctuary was not what he had expected and he had not seen another living soul. He was nervous and wondering when he would be getting his medallion back.

His eyes slowly adjusted to the gloom and he heard a noise in the corner to his right. Moving closer he saw two of the cots were occupied by sleeping figures. Against the wall he saw another food and water dispenser. To the right was the restroom and shower area. He walked around exploring each area in the dim light. He didn’t see any exits and it smelled like a locker room.

Moving over to the food and water dispenser he tried some of the food and nearly gagged. The machine dispensed soft chewy bars the consistency of glued together oatmeal. It was cold and distinctly unpleasant with a wicked aftertaste that stayed long after the food was gone. He grabbed a paper cup filled with water trying to get the taste out of his mouth. The water had a strong plastic taste and odor that made it just as unpleasant as the food bar. While it was wet, it was not at all satisfying. Again he sat down on the nearest cot and tried to think. So this was sanctuary. Just what was Sanctuary? What had he gotten himself into?

There had to be a way out. He walked slowly around the room brushing his hand against the wall and in the darkest corner noticed something he had missed before. He entered the darkness and turned a corner that was barely visible. A light was glowing weakly and he moved cautiously toward it in the gloom. The light seemed to be flashing and oddly familiar. As he came closer he recognized it as the terminal he had first encountered on entering the building. At his approach it sprang to life and asked.

“Do you seek sanctuary in Heliopolis, the city of the sun?”

“Hey, what’s the matter?” “Everything ok?”

Tobal heard someone come up behind him and start shaking him on the shoulder. He looked up and there was a smaller tow haired boy with a shock of yellow hair grinning impishly. His face full of mischief.

“What’s wrong?”

Tobal replied miserably waving his hand toward the hidden doorway behind the terminal.

“I lost all my things. It took my things, my medallion that my parents left me.”

“Don’t worry about that,” the boy said, “you’ll get your stuff back after you become a citizen.”

“Become a citizen?” Tobal asked.

“Yeah, first you claim sanctuary, then after completing the training you are granted citizenship.”

“You mean I can’t get into the city right away?” Tobal asked anxiously.

The tow haired boy laughed, “Hey, that’s a good one! Didn’t your parents tell you anything?”

“My parents are dead.”

Them In You

I love the water with its tumbling fall,
Its booming, foaming flood.
I love the storm and the reverberation of thunder,
The lightning’s unbounded rage.
I love them with exultant passion.
Only you with consuming fervor,
Carry lightning in your heart,
The storm in your breast,
And roiling waves in your blood.

Good self-esteem is vital in life. Without it we remain victims and unable to achieve the things we really want. When we feel good about ourselves it is easier to feel good about others too.

In my personal opinion there are three supreme goals we should strive for in life. If we can reach a competency level in each area we will have a healthy self-esteem.

Competency in these three areas will do more toward spiritual, emotional, mental and physical health than any other goals we may pursue. That does not mean these goals are easily achieved.

The first goal is completion of a basic first aid or paramedic course. Some type of course which trains a person in dealing with medical emergencies. There is no feeling worse than standing by helpless when someone else is dying or in desperate need of emergency medical attention.

One of my children once choked on an ice cube. She was turning blue and couldn’t breathe. I remember mechanically picking her up, slapping her on the back to dislodge the object and reaching down her throat to scoop up the ice cube. What can I say? What if I had been unable to do anything and remained frozen with fear?

I drove into my parent’s yard one day and my father was giving CPR to my uncle on the steps leading into our house. He continued doing CPR for 15 minutes until the paramedics arrived. My uncle died on our doorstep that day.

What if my father had not tried to keep him alive with CPR? In times of emergency if something can be done it must be done. Many places offer basic first aid courses throughout the year. EMT training is also available but it takes a little longer. As a life goal EMT training should be attainable by almost anyone.

The reward may be much more than self-esteem. You may use that knowledge to save the life of someone you love.

The second lifetime goal should be to acquire survival skills. This means the ability to stay alive in survival conditions. Having the ability to swim is an example. The ability to find or create shelter from the elements and start a campfire is another.

Other obvious examples would be knowing what to do when you are lost or when you need to go someplace for help.

These are all skills which are easily attainable through local courses almost anywhere. They aid tremendously in developing confidence and self-esteem

Those that wish to master these skills could learn how to live off the land for days at a time. Courses are also taught on how to find food in nature and how to create emergency shelters. Sure, this type of training is difficult. But remember we are talking about lifetime goals here.

Many things can be learned and experienced a little at a time and not all of them at once.

These skills are learned by physically going through the actions required and not by intellectual knowledge. The physical body needs to be taught step-by-step by actually going through the motions and the experiences.

Hiking, camping, rock climbing, and any outdoor sport can be valuable in providing this survival type experience. The more experience we have, the better our survival ability becomes and the better we feel about ourselves.

In acquiring these skills we know with conviction that we can take care of ourselves and take care of those we love in emergencies. This knowledge is very empowering and helps us to believe in ourselves. It helps us to reach out with confidence for those things we want in life for both ourselves and for those we love.

The third lifetime goal is the ability for self defense. The ability to defend ourselves or our loved ones is vital to our well-being. This does not mean picking a fight with someone. It means that you don’t have to back down or run just because someone threatens you or a loved one with physical violence.

The sad truth is that we may have our hard-earned goal within our hands and through threat of force or violence someone can take it away from us. There are people that prey upon weaker people and take advantage of the weakness of their victims.

The ability for self-defense is a mindset as well as a physical skill. We have been brainwashed into thinking it is better to offer no resistance when confronted by force or threat of force. This applies equally to the rules, regulations, and laws that strangle our personal freedoms at an ever-increasing rate. We are told that it is the law, we must not resist. Increasingly there are frivolous laws being passed that infringe upon our personal freedoms. Some of these laws are blatantly unconstitutional and revoked by the Supreme Court. Others have not yet been ruled upon by the Supreme Court.

Whether it is a physical assault upon our person or a legal assault upon our individual rights there is a line that must be drawn. There must be some point where a person says “I will not take any more abuse. This type of abuse must stop and it must stop here and now.”

We must refuse to be victims. When we are victims we suffer, our loved one suffer, our community suffers, our nation suffers and the entire human race suffers. When we stand up to defend ourselves and our loved ones we are no longer victims regardless of the outcome of the situation. We have at least done something, took whatever action we could to make the situation right.

Someone must be the first to stand up and fight back. Why must it always be the other person that fights for the injustice in our world? Why can’t it be us once in a while?

These are the three important lifetime goals which I believe will do the most to develop self-esteem within a person. There are other smaller goals that will assist this process.

We each have at least one skill, one thing that we are good at, one thing others will come to us to learn about. There must be at least one thing we are known for and respected for. We must be good at this one personal skill to have a healthy self-esteem.

Find that one thing and hone it to perfection. Become highly competent at that one physical skill, whatever it is. Each individual is unique. Some things appeal to one person and not to another. We each have certain things we find easy to do and other things that we find difficult to do.

In the beginning it is vital that we become highly skilled at what we find easy to do even if we are not that interested in doing it. Each small success is cumulative and will lead us through the clumsy, awkward stage, into true proficiency and finally into professional level competency. We must become familiar with both the awkwardness of the beginner and the competence of the professional.

When we understand the cycle of success we no longer fear the awkward stage of being a beginner because we know that as we gain experience it will become easier. Too many people refuse to do new things in life because they are afraid of looking foolish and awkward in front of others. The same people have probably never reached competency at a skill and don’t understand how the success cycle really works.

By achieving professional level competence in those areas that are easy for us, we become able to recognize the same stages of competency as we try gaining skills in other areas that are not so easy. When we have success in one area we know success is possible and we know what it feels like. We are able to recognize it in other areas. We have physical knowledge and experience of what it is like.

Each person should eventually acquire many skills at the professional level. They should acquire not only easily developed skills, but at least one extremely difficult skill.

It requires hard grueling effort against terrible resistance to prepare us for self mastery of our physical lives and our physical world. In fact, the only way to achieve mastery of our physical lives is by mastering one physical skill at a time.

Mastery comes when one looks back at a wide range of hard won efforts and skills and realizes that compared to many others his or her life is relatively problem free. This person is able to realize that he or she is free.

What exactly are the astral planes anyway? You hear the phrase over and over again. You read about the astral planes and books. Are people even talking about the same thing when they use the word?

It is certain that they are not. The subject of the astral planes is so confusing that even the experts disagree. What I’m going to do is explain the astral planes in a very specific and scientific perspective that is far more comprehensive and accurate than anyone else I know of.

This is possible using the general field theory of the late Dewey Larson. The astral planes are scientific and exist in a concrete and scientific way. They operate in very specific ways and follow very specific universal laws of nature. This subject will be addressed in stages until it is explored thoroughly through the use of metaphor.

Each metaphor will introduce an element of the astral planes and place it in a specific context. Other metaphors will add to the basic understanding until the astral planes can be intuited in their completeness.

The first metaphor is that of an atom. The atom exists as heavy particles within the center called protons and neutrons encircled by electrons that form an electronic cloud and create the outer physical boundary of the atom.

The electron cloud is another name for the tracks or paths the electrons follow as they orbit the nucleus of the atom. These tracks or paths can also be called magnetic flux lines or even astral cords. Astral cords or magnetic flux lines and electrons travel through them at the speed of light.

The electron cloud is the aura of the atom. The aura of the physical body is the electron cloud that surrounds the physical body. This is the magnetic field energy of the physical body and created out of magnetic flux lines. The aura of planet Earth is called the astral planes. It is created out of the earth’s magnetic field energies and consists of magnetic flux lines or ley lines as they are sometimes called.

These metaphors are exact. The so-called astral planes are not planes but layers of magnetic flux lines or astral cords packed tightly together and interconnected. They are pathways that exist for electrons to travel.

Electrons and human awareness travel these pathways. Our souls are complex photons or divine sparks of light. We might call them electrons. Simple awareness is a point of light or an electron. Each one of us is a star! We can send our awareness as a point of light or energy out beyond our physical bodies to travel within the electron clouds of other people or of the earth itself. This is the root of psychic phenomenon.

The development of our star into various astral bodies creates an awareness which can travel outside of our physical bodies. This is the goal of magical development

Our Divine counterpart is created at the same time that we develop our own sense of self or ego. We assist each other in this process! This happens in progressive stages. We are both created out of the same soul material at the same time. Each development of our newly created soul is balanced with a corresponding, yet opposite development in the newly created soul of our Divine counterpart.

I mentioned before that the soul or Observer self is created from a perfectly balanced mixture of male and female energies. The soul is neither male nor female and is perfectly neutral. Yet in the beginning our sense of awareness and the sense of self is based completely upon the sex of our physical bodies. As we learn what it is to be male or female we draw those things to us and integrate them as a part of us. At the same time we reject those things that belong to the opposite sex and push them away. The end result is that we acquire a solid sense of self based upon the sex of our own physical body and our Divine counterpart gains a similar sense of self based upon the sex of their body. We are total opposites of each other and have nothing at all in common except the energetic soul link that binds us together.

We discover things inside ourselves that we don’t like and push them away in disgust and fear. This act of pushing away gives those things to our Divine counterpart and they become those same things. At the same time we become what they dislike and fear and what they push away. As this process continues our sense of self becomes more firmly established inside of us. The same thing happens with our Divine counterpart and their sense of self becomes more firmly established in a completely opposite way.

Then we discover things that we like in other people and wish they were a part of us, but we don’t believe we really have those qualities. We can’t find any of those qualities inside of us. Again the same things happens, those things which we can’t find in ourselves are given to our Divine counterpart and become a part of who they are. Those things which our Divine counterpart likes but can’t find within themselves becomes a part of who we are. These things come to us through the soul link which we share.

At this point our Divine counterpart is the opposite sex, has personal characteristics that we don’t like and at the same time has other personal characteristics which we really admire. We are strongly attracted and repelled by them at the same time and they feel the same way toward us. We are not consciously aware of these things. The only thing we are aware of is the powerful spark that exists between us. We are polar opposites of each other, Satan to each other!

For those without a soul this is where the process stops and there is a mutual attraction/repulsion between them, a cllash of will and ideals, a battle of the sexes. This is the old way! This is the way it has always been! In the past neither Divine counterpart could experience or understand life from the point of view of the other. There was no common understanding of life experience but only duality and separation! They did not live in the same world as we did. But that has now changed! It is now possible for divine counterparts to find each other and experience full spectrum physical love relationships together for the first time! This is the new pattern and it already exists within the astral planes! Instead of Satan to each other, each is now able to become a loving companion to their own Divine counterpart!

Our newly created soul requires an equal balance of male and female energies and our physical bodies can only provide one of those energies. We must receive the opposite sex energy from personal relationships with the opposite sex. We exchange this energy through the process of falling in love. This feeling of being in love is a magical feeling with energy exchanging between the two of us and this mingling of these two energies create something inside of us, something beautiful, and causes something to grow, causes our souls to grow! It happens to both of us and it is magical! It is love!

Yet a point is reached when the spark dies, when the magic is gone, when there is no more soul growth. This is the point where love dies! The point is reached where we can now find things in ourselves which we could only find in our partner before. Because we now find them in ourselves they’re not as attractive in our partner. At the same time, due to conflicts within the relationship, we find those very same things in ourselves which we dislike in our partner. Our relationship has caused us to become aware of things about ourselves that we don’t like.

These are the reasons why the spark of love dies in many relationships. Yet even though the spark has died our soul has become larger and more balanced. We now contain a mixture of male and female energies. We no longer identify exclusively with our physical body, but realize that we are much more. We have a soul! Our sense of self is no longer focused upon just the physical. While these changes are happening inside of us they are also happening inside our Divine counterpart.

We have not yet met our Divine counterpart face-to-face. We have only met other people whom we thought might be soulmates because of the strong sense of love and attraction that draws us together. With them we experience love, soul growth, and then the painful realization that we are not compatible with each other. With each relationship, each time we fall in love, our soul becomes larger and more balanced and our sense of self becomes more peaceful and spiritual. We learn how to find those things we admire in others within ourselves and we learn to accept and integrate those things about ourselves that we don’t like. As this is happening to us it is happening to our Divine counterpart as well!

Our Divine counterpart is our polar opposite, our true opposite, and the only way we can ever come together is through absolute unity where duality no longer exists! This can only happen at the highest spiritual level of existence. This can only happen through the mystical experience of becoming one with God, becoming one with everything that exists! Such mystical experiences of union with God are in reality connections and reunions with our Divine counterpart. There is a powerful bond and attraction of love between divine counterparts that is both spiritual and sexual in nature. It is a feeling of bliss and indescribable love! Is the feeling of becoming one with God! It is orgasmic!

When one Divine counterpart is having the mystical experience of becoming one with God during meditation and prayer the other may be having the mystical experience of becoming one with God while giving birth to a child! The mystical experience of unity is shared by both at the same time, but the personal experience of each is completely individual!

Once this first contact happens an entirely new sequence of events is activated within the lives of both divine counterparts. There is an intense power of attraction and energy exchange between them at the highest spiritual levels! At these levels the sense of self is challenged in every possible way until it is completely destroyed. This is the death of the false human ego! At this point all the soul fragments of one Divine counterpart are transferred into the other. This happens to both of them as they exchange parts of their souls. Each Divine counterpart has experienced the death of their own ego and now carries a fragmented version of the other inside of their own soul which makes them more complete.

Yet these fragments are now parts of their own soul and a massive healing process begins at the highest levels as they both begin communicating with each other on the soul level. Each Divine counterpart now protects the other against all outside influences and dangers. This process will not stop or be interfered with until both are healthy and complete! Each Divine counterpart creates timelines for the other which will allow each fragment to heal and to be integrated. This is a very specific process.

As each Divine counterpart follows its own timeline or destiny and becomes more healed and complete it also becomes more identical to its mate. In finding ways to heal and integrate these fragments they both become more like each other! Level by level they become true mates and companions! The bond between them increases in power and intensity and they are drawn even more closely together within the astral planes.

The next stage is when they are spiritually and platonically drawn to each other at the physical level and begin communicating with each other. For the first time they become aware of each other and the true nature of their relationship. Layer by layer, level by level, they draw themselves to each other through the Intense power of the love they have for each other.

The attractive force between divine counterparts is so strong that nothing can keep them apart once they have found each other. It is only a matter of time until their relationship is consummated in some way. As each layer is completed the energy flowing between them becomes stronger and harder to resist. The entire focus and goal of each becomes physical union with the other! As they both become more focused and goal oriented they become even more like-minded and compatible. They are no longer true opposites, have become divine counterparts with similar outlooks and beliefs!

The final stage occurs when they are so closely fused together that they both exist inside each other at all levels and function as one. At that point the resources and abilities of one become available to the other at all times. They have become like the yin-yang symbol, opposites with similar shapes and joined in such a way that the movement and desire of one supports and strengthens the movement and desire of the other. For all practical purposes they have become one soul living within two bodies.

Before this happens this same cycle happens between soulmates. Soulmates share specific types of soul connections with us that allow us to grow until we are healthy enough to attract our Divine Counterpart.

He paused and took a sip of brandy before continuing. “ The holy men and women of the earth’s religions knew these techniques and passed them on in secret to a select few. The Gods and Goddesses of all religions were once human. After they learned these techniques they became ‘divine’ and transcended normal human life. Later they were worshipped as Gods and Goddesses.

Can you imagine the military application of such super human abilities? Imagine spies and assassins that can’t be stopped or caught. Do you understand what I am saying? Phase III was insignificant compared to Howling Wolf’s bi-location process.

Your parents refused to cooperate any longer with the harmful studies because of the mutagenic effect it had on the human DNA. Several volunteers had already died horrible deaths. The Federation found out about our secret group and panicked. They sent in Special Forces and massacred our entire village hoping to kill every one of us.”

Adam’s throat caught and his voice faltered. “Many innocent lives were lost. Not just those in the sanctuary program. My wife was murdered and my two older children. Howling Wolf’s entire family was living in the village and they were murdered too. Only two of his grandchildren survived and that was because they were with us. We were at a secret meeting and had taken you, Sarah, and Howling Wolf’s two grandchildren with us. I was taking care of the four of you. The rest were in a meeting when it happened.”

“When we came back,” his voice faltered and there were tears in his eyes, “When we came back they were all dead. Your father and mother went to find your uncle. He was the Federation officer in charge of Phase III. They never came back. They took you with them. Howling Wolf’s son and daughter-in-law were hunted down and executed. The rest of us vanished. Howling Wolf took his remaining grandchildren and I took Sarah. She doesn’t know she had two older brothers.”

“We went back in secret and buried our loved ones. Several times they almost caught us but we slipped through them like ghosts,” he laughed hollowly and without humor, “That’s what we were, ghosts burying ghosts.”

His fist clenched, “That’s what they were too, if we ever caught them. We wanted to stay but the children were not safe and needed protection. We waited for word from your parents but no word ever came. Howling Wolf was going to keep an eye on things and keep our secret meeting place from being discovered. We knew how to contact each other in an emergency. I was going to get money for the supplies to rescue your parents if they were still alive.”

“That’s all I know,” he said wearily sitting back in his chair. “Howling Wolf never contacted me. They must have hunted him down and killed him too. I don’t see how he could have survived.”

Adam peered at Tobal over his spectacles. “Now you tell me there is renewed interest in your parent’s research. I’ve thought about this for a long time. I’ve always wanted Sarah to go through the sanctuary program. I’m getting too old to train her myself. Knowing that you will be there makes me feel better about Sarah going. I will send her next fall after the tourist season.”

“Can you bi-locate,” Tobal asked in awe?

The old man nodded gruffly, “Howling Wolf and your parents taught me.”

“Can Sarah?”

Adam sighed and took another sip of brandy. “No she can’t. She needs to go through the sanctuary program first for the preliminary training. After that I can train her.”

“Will you train me,” Tobal asked hopefully?

Adam took a long time before answering. He bent forward and his steely eyes looked straight into Tobal’s soul. “Get through the sanctuary program first and then ask me. If it is still what you want, then I will train you. I owe your parents that much. Make sure Sarah gets through her training too.”

Tobal was overwhelmed by the information and needed some time to think. He believed the old man, but he also felt the old man was not telling the entire story. He excused himself and said he needed to go for a walk down by the park and clear his head.

The sun was high and it was almost noon when Sarah came to get him for lunch. She was shy and awkward in social situations. Tobal guessed she didn’t get around much and was surprised she was being home schooled. To be home schooled in today’s high tech society was unheard of. As they walked back to the shop for lunch he wondered how good her education really was.

Sarah and Tobal spent a lot of time together and became good friends. She was interesting to talk with and certainly knew far more about history than he did. The days crept by and early March brought heavy snows that made a mess in Old Seattle where traffic was foot traffic. Sidewalks were kept shoveled clear but the streets were left to melt on their own. Getting around on foot made travel hazardous. They spent most of the time inside the store or visiting other shops.

One day they went to New Seattle. It was like any modern city-state he had ever visited. It was lacking in personality and created to satisfy its population with passive pleasures like virtual gaming tournaments and interactive learning terminals linking people from all across the globe. Like many city-states if followed the European pattern of stacking people like sardines in limited living quarters. That was balanced with large parks, recreational areas and gardens where a person could spend time alone in nature without ever leaving the city itself.

It was Old Seattle that was a breath of fresh air to Tobal with its strange shops and residents. The entire area was filled with people that dared to be different and creative. Each person was living their own self-created reality and prospered or reduced to poverty on the merits of their vision and efforts. Old Seattle survived on the seasonal tourist trade. Still, it was surprising how much business it drew even in the slower months of winter and late spring.

There was a darker side to the city as well and they tried to steer clear of it. Drugs and prostitution had found a home in the old city along with other illegal activities not allowed within New Seattle. There were dangers that beckoned with shadowy fingers. This was an area of human predators and there was little protection from the law. Tobal realized why there were iron bars and heavy reinforced doors on most of the homes and shops.

The freedom of the old city came at a heavy price. That price was no medical or police service. It simply was not available even though one could go through the gate into New Seattle and have instant service. New Seattle did not want people living in Old Seattle and did not support its occupants. The local community united together to provide emergency service and transportation when needed. They looked out for each other through a neighborhood watch program.

Sarah and Adam lived in a fairly safe and respectable neighborhood but even she was concerned when they were followed home one snowy night by a shadowy figure they couldn’t quite make out. They never did know if it was a friend making sure they got home safely or a predator. The mysterious figure vanished into the snowy night when they reached the shop entrance.

Tobal spent a lot of time talking with Adam. One afternoon he was helping set up a new display in the shop.

“Where does all this stuff come from,” he asked? “How do you find things like this?”

The old man answered evasively. “They are just hand crafted items here on consignment. I know the people that make them and have an exclusive trade agreement with them. While I get a commission on each sale, I don’t really know the history of each piece.”

He eyed Tobal speculatively and continued, “Several times a year I take some time off to restock my supply. When I’m gone Sarah takes care of the shop for me. That’s why I’m going to miss her so much when she leaves.”

“Have you ever heard of Tavistock Educational?”

“Hmm, yes I think I have. Why,” Adam asked?

“That’s my old school. I graduated from there.” He paused and corrected himself. “I mean this spring is my graduation but I graduated early.” “Anyway”, he flushed, “last Halloween we had a costume ball and I was wondering if our theatrical department got its costumes from you. This shop reminds me of the costumes we were wearing.”

Adam Gardner eyed him shrewdly. “Your uncle must do pretty well to send you to an exclusive school like Tavistock Educational. It’s a very hard school to get into and I’ve never heard of anyone graduating early from it. I’ve heard it’s real high society, not like your parents at all.”

Tobal persisted, “Did the school get the costumes from you?”

Adam relented and said mysteriously, “Yes, they have an account with me and are one of my good customers. There are not many places that can afford high quality reproductions. I move in some pretty elite circles myself.” Then he changed the subject.

Adam also proved evasive about the medallion, especially when Tobal told him that he had seen the same image as a tattoo on Uncle Harry’s chest. Adam said there were some things he couldn’t talk about. Maybe later after Tobal completed the sanctuary program they could sit down and talk. It was just not the right time. There were some things that could only be told after he received the proper training.

“There are some things just too dangerous to talk about right now,” he told Tobal. “I haven’t been to Heliopolis in over fifteen years and they think I’m dead. I want them to keep thinking I’m dead. I don’t know if things have changed and I don’t want to endanger Sarah when she is taking the Phase I training this fall.”

“Tell you what,” he said. “ You come back here with Sarah after you’ve completed the sanctuary program and I’ll tell you everything you want to know.” He looked hard at Tobal, “Will you trust me on that?”

Tobal didn’t have much choice. “I guess I will have to”, he muttered dryly.

Soon after that the old man made arrangements for transportation to the closed city-state of Heliopolis. It was about 80 miles from the coast into the Rockys. Heliopolis lay in a sheltered valley between mountains and was hidden by hard wood trees, ringed with dense pine forests and shaded by snow capped mountains.

Tobal and Adam had one last talk in private before he left. Adam told him more about Heliopolis. It did not follow the accepted rules of the Federation. Tobal was reminded he would not have the same civil rights he enjoyed now. Heliopolis was a separate sovereign nation. He needed to be very careful.

Tobal was getting a little worried until Adam reminded him that Sarah would be coming next fall and she would need his friendship and help. It was a high honor to apply for sanctuary. No one was turned away but it was so secret few people knew they could apply. It was limited to word of mouth and generations of family members that had already gone through the training themselves.

Adam had been a citizen of Heliopolis before Tobal’s parents changed everything with their research. He remembered how Heliopolis had been before it became a closed city-state. His wife and two sons were buried back there and some day he wanted to go back and visit their graves. He was bitter about it because under the current political conditions he would never be able to go back.

His older citizenship was no longer recognized and his life would be in danger if he tried. Sarah’s life would be in danger if they knew who she really was. She would come under a false identity. He hoped Sarah would be able to visit her mother’s grave. She didn’t know about her two older brothers and he needed to talk to her about them before she left. His voice faltered as he was telling Tobal these things. Tobal knew it would be very hard for Adam to share these things with Sarah.

There was not much else to say and Tobal silently gave the old man a hug. Then they went downstairs to find Sarah. It was almost time to go.

Crippling depression comes when we can’t find any way out of a bad situation. We feel trapped and helpless. Each of us is doing the best we can in life. We each act in accordance to what we have learned through past experiences and in accordance with our current beliefs.

No matter how successful we are things will occasionally erupt in our faces and attempt to smash us. There is always a creative solution to even the worst situation. In the very worst situation it may cost us our life. Still, it is always possible to find a way to die with honor and self-esteem intact.

I recently read a novel that dealt with the horrors of Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s disease. I was deeply moved as I read about these diseases. I know some people that suffer from Alzheimer’s but I did not know how badly they and those they loved suffered. In the novel, one person in a lucid moment beat the disease through suicide.

He was able to die with dignity at the moment of his choice and under his terms. The novel still haunts me. Why should our world be this way? True genius and creativity come from developing the ability to discover and use solutions previously unknown or unrecognized. Every situation has a solution, it is up to us to find that solution and discard those that are not acceptable.

We must train ourselves in the ability to find these solutions. This training helps us to be resourceful and adept at dealing with recurring crisis situations. In time crisis situations are no longer emotionally crippling to us. We gain the ability to deal with them rationally and competently. The key to finding creative solutions is to take ourselves out of the situation and perceive it differently.

We must change our way of looking at the situation because our normal way offers no solution. We do this naturally when we ask ourselves, “What would Dad do in this situation, what would Mom do? What would John Wayne or Clint Eastwood do?” We try to see the situation from the eyes and viewpoint of someone we respect.

A draw back of this approach is that it involves admitting our own inability to deal with the situation. It reinforces the weakness of our own chosen belief system.

As strange as it sounds, the use of divinatory devices such as horoscopes, fortune cookies, Tarot cards and daily prayer books are more effective.

These devices are more effective because they give information that is so vague and general we must generate creative energy to make the information even apply to us.
“How in the world can that ever apply to me?”

After a few minutes of thought we arrive at possible interpretations that could apply to our own situation.

Do you see what is happening? At the last level we approached the problem not as ourselves but as someone else. In this stage we use divinatory devices to get our own creative juices flowing. These devices are crutches or aids and have no power in themselves. At this stage we are able to expand our options in creative ways with the help of these aids.

One of the great enjoyments in life is finding the correct solution to a problem or situation. Eureka! A light bulb goes off in our brain and we are overjoyed.

Most people enjoy horoscopes and other divinatory aids because of the joy of discovering possible interpretations to what would otherwise be nonsense. We enjoy creating meaning out of chaos and discord. At least we do when chaos and discord do not overwhelm us.

It is important we try for solutions that are within our ability to resolve. The key is to start at lower levels and not attempt the highest levels until we are familiar with the lower ones.

The next stage is much more rigid and demanding. A writing instructor may tell a student to take a list of 25 words and create a poem or a story containing those words. Likewise a person may spend days, months or years making his or her thoughts conform to a specific pattern.

The art and discipline of pen and ink drawing is an example. The artist is restricted to work in a specific medium and still expected to produce brilliant creative and original work.

This is also the level of active problem solving. Thousands of people enjoy crossword puzzles and other mental challenges simply because of the joy in finding the correct solutions. In addition to added creative power this also develops the analytical and reasoning skills.

As always, the more experience you have in problem solving the greater your ability to find solutions becomes. The more you do, the better you get.

The next level is illustrated by the concept of a Zen koan. A Zen master may ask a pupil, “What do an ice cube, a stop sign and your mother-in-law all have in common?” There is only one correct answer and it is highly personal and individual. You will feel the correctness of the solution deep in your soul when you find it.

The student or disciple may spend days, months or even years pondering this question. Whenever he approaches the master with a possible solution the master merely says, “That is not the correct solution, try harder.” After perhaps two years the student runs up to the master laughing and with tears in his eyes. He is overcome with emotion and radiates intense excitement. “I know the answer,” he shouts. “Whenever I see my mother-in-law she stops me cold!”

The master congratulates the student and then gives him another more difficult koan. With each success the student is able to find the correct answer more easily and swiftly. Of course the correct answer is always individual and personal but the master and student both can tell when the answer is the correct one by the emotional rightness it has.

This is a very high degree of problem solving where only a few simple words are used as a key to unlock the creative power within us. As before each effort builds upon the successes of previous efforts. With experience the difficulty goes away and the solution readily appears.

The highest level of creative problem solving is when a person blanks their mind and deliberately tries to be open to all possibilities. They reject “possible” solutions because they are familiar with the euphoria and inner joy that comes from the truly “correct” solution.

The exciting news is that this level of creative ability can be developed by anyone with practice and hard work. But they must first master the lower levels of creative problem solving.

Mastery of each of the lower levels is an important and easy way to get a great number of personal successes under one’s belt. This assists in strengthening personal confidence and self-esteem.

The creative ability is like a muscle that must be flexed many times for it to grow strong. It is like dissolving salt in a glass of water. You can add more and more salt and nothing happens. At a critical point the water can contain no more salt and the salt crystallizes out of the water.

In the same manner when we focus our attention fully on our problem and give it our energy and effort a point will eventually be reached where the proper solution crystallizes into our awareness. With experience we become familiar with the process and it becomes easier and swifter to accomplish. Each success makes the next one easier and we learn to trust ourselves more.

In time our ability to focus and generate this creative energy can become spontaneous and happen without effort on our part. It is at this point we are competent and resilient in life. Our ability to deal with life becomes an enjoyable challenge and not a burden. We actually look forward to the next challenge from the unknown.

We have explored how cellular life evolved from a photon driven energy system that forced evolutionary changes and quantum leaps into new organizational patterns. This is basic chaos theory. We have also spoken about how cellular life gave off living energy into the astral. There was something that remains stable and allows the cell to remain a cell even when it attracts nutrients and expels waste matter.

This organizing intelligence seeks to keep the cell alive and vital. In higher organisms this forms the rudimentary Shadow or Id. It is a secondary personality responsible for keeping us alive and healthy. The Shadow creates the neural pathways inside our brain. When our awareness is linked with the Shadow it remains within our physical bodies. It is also the beginning of our Soul.

Upon death the life force leaves the dead physical matter and leaves an astral ghost or memory trace of the entire life time from birth to death. These memory traces exist within the time/space universe as the astral worlds. The astral worlds show memory traces of the ghosts of the past and of the future as it has already happened.

Our awareness is an individual energy pulse that has selected one particular life time and is traveling through that life time experiencing it as full 3 dimensional sensory awareness in the present moment. Metaphysically we are where our awareness is.

The astral worlds cover the entire earth. The pulse of our awareness can travel through the astral worlds as well. In Jungian psychology this is known as the Collective. Freud called it the Super Ego. Mystics call it Cosmic Consciousness and magicians call it the Holy Guardian Angel.

It is not really alive until we encounter it. Our awareness brings it to life once more as we re-live things that have happened before. In reality the astral consists of astral cords or pathways through time and we can choose where the pulse of our awareness will go. The pre-existing routes we term destiny or fate. They lie in our future and in the astral we can explore them ahead of time so to speak.

The thing is that we don’t need to travel these old ghost pathways. History does not need to repeat itself. We can create new pathways through time. Magic work is the forging and creation of new astral pathways and experiences that have not existed before. It is changing the future and perhaps even the past.

Individual awareness has evolved beyond cellular life. It has evolved into human life. When we consider life as a photon driven energy system that makes quantum leaps it means human awareness is a photon driven energy system.

Our awareness contains compound molecules and the cells of our physical body. Our awareness contains the bions or emotions and thoughts our bodies generate. Our awareness travels in astral bodies as we sleep and travels the entire earth and the astral planes. Our awareness also travels as a pulse through the memory traces of individual souls giving us the illusion of being that person.

Even more important, just as the organizing intelligence of the cell is independent of the physical matter that passes through it, our own awareness is independent of our physical bodies and continues as an energy pulse of conscious awareness upon the death of our physical bodies. Awareness is independent of matter.

The fact a particular life time exists in the astral as a memory trace is proof such a life time existed but the fact that in the astral the future can be seen is also proof it has already happened. We, as a pulse of awareness are simply re-living and re-enacting a massive video game in the hopes of getting a better score than the last pulse of awareness that moved through it.

When we are born the game begins and when we die the game is over. The trick is to create the future we desire astrally before we experience it physically. When we can do this we have won. The future, HGA or collective traps us within a destiny. Our Shadow is the only hope we have of breaking free. Our physical bodies and physical circumstances are illusions that we trap ourselves within. We break free of the illusion by developing the seven astral bodies and integrating them with our Shadow aspect.

Occult and mystical literature are filled with references to the astral planes and the creatures that are said to inhabit them. The entire topic is highly controversial and subjective. Some of the more pragmatic call the astral planes our dream world.

I don’t remember how many times I’ve been told not to confuse the levels. Something that I am apparently pretty good at! What are these mysterious levels anyway?

Organic Gnosticism takes a harsh, scientific view of the astral planes and comes to a few interesting conclusions that are sharply at odds with some widely held beliefs while supporting others.

Organic Gnosticism maintains that each physical object and each living thing is a resonant circuit made up of both inductance and capacitance. The physical body stores and discharges energy. The aura or soul is the magnetic field that surrounds the body. The strong current of bio-electric energy that flows through both the capacitive body and the inductive soul is what causes self-awareness.

To briefly summarize in non-technical terms, everything that physically exists forms a resonant circuit. Light causes it to grow and expand in complexity and to interact with its environment. A return current is generated that is electrical in nature. This life current is forced to circulate endlessly within the circuit until physical death.

Without the physical body self-awareness does not exist. Death of the physical body breaks the resonant circuit and all remaining energy tries to return back to the source as electrical energy which is met by an outgoing burst of light energy and forced into another physical body that is more advanced and complex than the old one…ect.

What is important is to perceive all physical objects as having both a physical body and an aura or soul. These two components are inseparable and work together to stabilize the physical object or life form.

In a similar manner the earth is surrounded by a large magnetic field and is a resonant circuit. The earth’s magnetic field contains the collective magnetic fields of everything that exists upon it. This huge resonant circuit works to stabilize the entire earth and everything that lives upon it. It is a dynamic force of raw nature. The universe we live in is made up of photo/electrical energy, magnetic field energy, and physical atoms and molecules. While higher, more complex forms of energy do exist they are all reducible to photo/electrical components as described in previous posts.

There is no need to create fantastic magical worlds and creatures when it is possible to use existing technology to explain subjective experiences. These subjective experiences involve individual awareness and how life energy flows through us in a resonant circuit.

While everything is reducible to photo/electrical components, individual awareness is not normally found in photo/electrical energy or in magnetic field energy over long periods of time.

Illumination may come if a person’s awareness is advanced enough to transform into photo/electrical energy. This subjective state does not last any length of time and a more normal state of awareness always returns, albeit higher and more advanced than before the illumination experience. This suggests that awareness does not normally exist as photo/electrical energy over long periods of time.

Magnetic field energy is by nature a vortex energy and awareness transformed to this type of energy would find itself either strongly focused by South pole energy or rapidly dispersed by North pole field energy. Either way awareness at this level is not stable but is in a transition phase.

For all practical purposes individual awareness would not appear in a lasting manner as either photo/electrical energy or as magnetic field energy. It does exist however, in physical life forms. This is important evidence that a physical body is needed for individual awareness.

Individual awareness is obviously more than a physical body.
For example, every physical atom is surrounded by its own magnetic field. An atom is both one or more electrons circling around a nucleus and a magnetic field that encloses it.

The more complex the atom or molecule the more complex the magnetic field or aura that it has. In electronics a magnetic field is termed inductive and has flux lines within it. It is usually generated by passing electrical current through a coil.

Also in electronics physical atoms and molecules have both resistance and capacitance. Resistance is something’s ability or inability to conduct electrical energy. This is not of interest to us at this time.

Capacitance is a physical objects ability to store or discharge electrical energy. This is very important to us because when capacitance and inductance are equal in an electrical circuit a resonant circuit is formed.

This resonant circuit stabilizes itself and resists change. It also has a large flow of energy within the circuit itself with a very small amount of energy entering it or leaving it. If not for the resistance within the circuit itself the flow of energy would be perpetual once it began to flow.

Resonant circuits allow us to listen to radio stations or to watch television channels. They are a very important part of the electronics industry. The portion of the circuit that is resonant is called the tank circuit.

The tank circuit in any physical object would include both the physical body and the magnetic or astral body. Large amounts of energy would constantly flow from the physical body to the astral body and back to the physical body in an endless loop. This tank current is what causes life and individual awareness in higher life forms.

In elements and compounds this tank current determines the behavior and life span of the physical object itself. Because of this the magnetic layers around the earth contain a large tank current that determines the behavior and life spans of everything on earth. All living things including humans must conform to the greater needs of the earth itself.

If there is a need for a massive earthquake to relieve internal stresses there is nothing that man can do to prevent it from occurring. The massive tank currents of the earth’s astral planes shape man’s destiny and not the other way around. Man must find a way to conform and live in harmony with these mighty forces of nature.

Now it’s time to take a closer look at the earth’s astral planes and its characteristics.

The lightest elements like hydrogen and helium are at the outer edge of the earth’s atmosphere and their magnetic field would naturally be found at the outer edge of the earth’s atmosphere. The heaviest elements like #118 if it exists would naturally be found deep within the earth’s surface as would it’s magnetic field.

Many elements do not exist in their pure form in nature, they exist as compounds. Still, they are individual elements and the magnetic field for each element exists as does a composite magnetic field for the compound.

Organic Gnosticism proposes that there is a magnetic layer around the earth for each element that exists. This would mean that there were 118 inductive layers surrounding the earth as part of the earth’s resonant circuit. These 118 layers are known more commonly as the astral planes.

In addition Organic Gnosticism also proposes that the astral planes around the north magnetic pole are what is commonly known in metaphysics as the spiritual/astral plane having all layers from the lowest to the highest but with expansive energies.

The astral planes around the south magnetic pole form what is known as the magical plane and is involved with the formation of physical reality. In magic they have been termed the qlippotic or demonic planes.

Probably the best way to understand the astral planes is to explore them one at a time. To do this an assumption is made that an element’s astral layer will share the characteristics of it’s physical counterpart. This follows the time honored phrase, “as above, so below”. This refers to the occult tradition that astral events are intimately connected to physical events.

If this phrase holds true it should allow us to map the astral layers that surround the earth and give us insight into it’s true nature. Also following occult tradition we will begin with the heaviest, material levels and work our way upward to the lightest, spiritual levels.

The reasoning for this approach is that our astral body normally resides inside the physical body. Together they create a resonant circuit. The astral body will not travel outside of the physical body unless the physical body has stored enough energy to propel it outward for short periods of time. This happens in our dreams as we sleep.

During dreams astral contact is made with other astral objects or life forms. This always results in an energy loss or energy exchange where the dream ends. The physical body did not have enough stored energy to maintain the connection. The physical body is depleted of its energy and the astral body is forced to return to the physical body.

This energy draining aspect of the astral is why we begin with the lowest astral levels in our exploration. They are the closest to physical reality and most important to our physical survival.
