Sometimes I am amazed at how trapped I have become in my own beliefs or those beliefs that I have been poisoned with through society. It is only by breaking out of the box that some self evident truths manage to sink into my thick skull!

I’ve just finished reading two very comprehensive and fascinating books by Cornell University professor George Makari, “Soul Machine” and “Revolution in Mind”. These two books have given me an excellent overview of the historical foundations of modern thought on both sides of the mind/soul debate. In addition I’ve been going back over my Rosicrucian studies from the very beginning to try and sift more understanding from them.

When these activities combined with my ongoing magickal studies with the Aurum Solis and the Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids it became a volatile mix indeed and I’m gaining lots of insights and making connections that I could have made a long time ago if I had not been stuck in my own box.

My recent posts about non-physical bodies is an example. I have permanently activated these bodies and live in both worlds all the time. I have personally experienced several encounters with the dead and dying. Why am I still trying to justify their existence? Even the ancients realized and said that we are both physical body and soul. It was the great mystery and we are still trying to prove that we are one or the other and not both at the same time!

I even posted a video that I found about the horn torus shape which shows one way that we can be both cosmic and in one spot at the same time. Science already tells us that photons sometimes act like waves and other times like particles so why can’t we do the same? The Reciprocal Systems theory of Dewey Larson which I’ve written so much about over the years also says that all things including us exist simultaneously in two universes, that of space/time and it’s reciprocal time/space. Our awareness is both within our physical bodies and extends throughout the entire cosmos at the same time! It follows the simple expansion/contraction cycle of vibratory energy.

I’ve been talking about it but I’ve never made the leap off the cliff! It’s time to make that leap and move on to other things that involve these non-physical bodies and how to use them.

It was a recent exercise in the Aurum Solstice that really triggered me. There is a meditation called “Rousing of the Citadels” which energizes the six major chakras and calls upon various deities for each particular energy center. What struck me is that essentially it was almost the same meditation as my own energy ball and portal meditation! But what was different was that my portal meditation merges the energy centers together directly and this meditation uses mental associations to do the same thing!

That is when the light bulb came on! All of these magickal and mystical systems are using mental associations to create an artificial and symbolic bridge from one type of energy to another. My mind flashed back to 1995 when I was involved in the OTO and the study of the Holy Kabbalah when I had a vivid dream of myself and other members of the OTO moving downward through the planes from above the Great Abyss. Each one of them had shaped their souls in the form of a Kabbalistic lightning bolt as they moved from the higher levels down to the lower levels. But my path downward was like a sheet of glass or light. While their path moved in a zig-zag fashion from Sephiroth to Sephiroth my path moved progressively and smoothly like a wave across a football field from one element to the next by the simple addition of another electron and proton! My path was progressive and scientific while their path was associative and symbolic!

So I think it is time to move on to the subject of these astral or non-physical bodies, how they are created and how they sustain themselves. There is no longer any need to try proving that they exist. I’ve broken out of the prison of my own creation!
