Today we are going to talk about individualism in the 12th-century. What’s interesting is that as we followed the history of Organic Gnosticism, the early Christians, and the early Church, we discovered that the creation of the soul has been pretty much a function of the literate. It has been the educated people that have been preoccupied with this.

The common illiterate people did not have the higher functioning or reasoning ability to develop the Observer self, the watcher self or what was called the the soul. But they were evolving in their own way and they were evolving from a heart space. If we think of Organic Gnosticism we think of it as developing in an organic way from the physical body and into the heart space. The development of the soul was the development of the heart.

In the 12th-century things began to change, and they began changing with Abelard. Abelard was the first philosopher to dare utter just a little tiny thought.

The idea is not real, abstraction is not reality.

What he was saying was so obvious, but the elites wouldn’t believe! They were so in their heads that they didn’t want to believe what he was pointing out to them. He told them that physical reality was real and what’s in your head is in your head!

That was devastating to all of these head trippers. It had the effect of turning the teachings of the church upside down. If reality was in the mind then reality and truth only belonged to the educated.

But now suddenly because of these thoughts that Abelard dared proclaim, anybody could live in the real world and perceive the real world. It was right in front of them. The educated taught that you had to have faith in the Church and faith would allow you to believe. It would allow you to be certain of truth.

But Abelard had to prove things rationally and understand them. They had to make sense to him. If they made common sense, if they were rational, then he could believe in them. He questioned many of the Church’s core teachings and came up with some unique concepts.

Sin was not in the deed itself, but in the intention. If the sin came out of ignorance or habit he didn’t even really believe it was a sin but rather simply the natural consequences of behaviors.

He said that there were consequences if you acted in an evil way. If you acted in a harmful way there were consequences as well and that’s what was being called sin. But it wasn’t really sin, it was just the natural consequences of actions.

His idea of salvation was that it wasn’t salvation from sin but that salvation was an act of God’s love and God’s grace.

And here’s the kicker. Everyone had to interpret divinity according to their own understanding. It wasn’t enough to take the words of the Church. Each person had to understand God, understand Christ, understand divinity in their own hearts and in their own way. It was an individual thing. With these words the power of the church was broken.

Suddenly the common people had access to these concepts and they talked about sacred things and formed their own conclusions. For the first time Arnold of Brescia, one of Abelard’s gifted students, taught that the Church should return to the way it was with the first Christian congregations. The Church should be purely spiritual as Christ had wanted it to be.

An outcry rang out to get rid of the church. People needed to become free of Rome. Pope Lucius II was killed and his successor, Eugene III, had to flee to escape the wrath of the common people who were rebelling against the lands; and against the temporal power of the Church itself.

The kings of Castile had the entire works of Aristotle translated for the first time. Then the Arabs came with their pantheism of Averroes and the Jews brought the subtlety of the Kabbalah. So all of these new concepts were introduced.

Under the protection of Emperor Frederick II, Arabian doctors for the first time dared to cut open a corpse for scientific purposes. A spirit of skepticism and disbelief seized the common people and the “I” or the sense of self or the ego, which was also called the watcher or the soul was brought to the fore with enthusiasm. Because for the first time the common, uneducated people were able to get it. It was something in the heart. It wasn’t something way up in the head like the church had been teaching. It was something attainable, and this was exciting to them.

The paradox of logic and reason was made obvious to everyone and it’s amazing because that was in the 12th-century. In the 12th-century to be able to prove something logically and at the same time refute it was considered the highest philosophical art. They made it an art to logically prove and then logically disprove things because they understood the trap and the falsity, the paradox of logic and reason.

You could fall into the trap by believing in logic and reason exclusively. Our modern society has been taught to ignore this and we have forgotten this false trap. Our modern society has made the great error of believing in the power of logic and reason.

The people of the 12th-century no longer sought after an external God. God was inside them, was in their hearts and spoke to them within their hearts. God spoke to them through the still small voice of their conscience and spoke to each one of them in an individual way.

So what happened in the 12th-century was a massive breakthrough for the common people and a massive breakdown of the power structure of the elite controllers, the rational atheists and social enforcers. Their authority and control of the common people was being challenged in a massive way.

The common people consisted of Organic Gnostics who weren’t really that much interested in anything spiritual. But these Organic Gnostics were able to get it. As they were getting understanding of the true nature of the soul, the world was changing big time and it was an exciting time to be alive.

People were talking about these things. People were exploring things and they were daring to think their own thoughts for the first time. This had unheard of consequences later on.

The Organic Gnostics came from the common people. They were the original Gaia inhabitants and they were a little slow because they were only in the beginning stages of evolving their souls.

The social enforcers and the rational atheists came in at a higher and more evolved level. They came in with these mental concepts of the soul and its creation already firmly developed. They were the masters and the common people were the sheep.

But now the game was changing because these ordinary people were catching up!

Chapter 16

“Well, let’s just keep this to ourselves for a bit,” Rafe suggested. “Ellen all ready knows enough to make her more alert about things. Let’s see if she found anything out first before we tell her any more. She could get into trouble over this and we don’t want that to happen.”

Tobal agreed and they turned the conversation to other topics. “I heard you got lucky with your third chevron?”

Rafe snorted and began telling the story. They talked long into the night. Tobal never did get a chance to talk with Ellen and she wasn’t around the gathering spot the next morning when he tried looking for her.

He looked around for the girls but they had left already. Judging from their tracks in the snow they were about three hours ahead of him. He didn’t really care since he had a lot on his mind and wondered what Ellen wanted to talk to him about.

Tobal made the long trek toward sanctuary. The trail up the cliff was a problem since it was snow covered and so narrow. He cleaned the narrow ledge before crossing it and needed to make several trips because he couldn’t pull his small sled over it either. At the top of the cliff the terrain looked much different than it had two months before when he had last made the trip. It was also much more dangerous.

Brown shrubs with falling leaves and dried grass showed in open areas and there was drifted snow in others. The wind had a bite to it and he was glad for the warm fur parka, trousers, and snow boots. Even though they were bulky and cumbersome, they were warm. As long as he didn’t work up a sweat he would be fine and the open spaces free of snow made the going much easier than if he had to use snow shoes.

He took his time and enjoyed the solitude and the movement. It took four days to reach sanctuary but he was in high spirits when he got there. He had let the girls go on ahead of him and wasn’t really expecting anyone to be at sanctuary itself. He was prepared for a long wait. Snow was falling and the sun had already set although it was still light enough to see. Stepping through the door he stomped his boots and kicked them against the wall to knock the snow off. He proceeded taking off his furs because it was warm inside and the heat was uncomfortable. Then he waited for his eyes to adjust to the dim light. After his eyes adjusted he saw a small dark figure huddled on one of the cots in the other room.

Moving into the dimly lit room he saw someone that reminded him of Rafe clutching a dark fur blanket or robe around small shoulders and watching with big dark eyes. This boy’s hair was raven black and he looked Native American. He also looked small, scrawny and too young to be here.

“I’m Tobal.” He said extending his hand in welcome. “What’s your name?”

“Crow,” the boy replied. “I’ve been waiting here for three days and was beginning to think no one was going to come. The others already left. You have come for me haven’t you?” He stammered hopefully sitting up straighter on the cot.

Tobal didn’t know what to do. This kid was going to be a real pain and it was going to be during the worst part of the winter. He didn’t like the thought at all.

“How old are you anyway?” He asked rather brusquely.

“Fourteen,” the boy said. “My grandfather is a shaman and had a vision that I needed to come here.”

Tobal silently cursed the old shaman and his visions. “Where’s your stuff?” He asked at last.
“Stuff, what stuff?” the boy replied in puzzlement.

“Your pack, sleeping bag and med kit!”

“What do you mean?”

“Haven’t you processed yet?” Tobal was getting more and more irritated with this kid.

“My grandfather said I was to wait for you and that you would teach me what I needed to know,” Crow said hopefully.

Tobal groaned inwardly and winced at the thought of a two day delay waiting for the kid to process.

“Ok, Crow,” he said, “listen to me. The first thing is go through that doorway over there and get some tests taken. It will be a medical check up and you will be given some things to wear and use. That will take about two days and I can’t help you. You’ve got to do it yourself OK? I will be out here waiting.”

“OK.” Crow said meekly and headed for the door wearing the dark fur like a robe that reached to the ground. Crow turned and came back to Tobal. He reached inside the robe and pulled out a rumpled letter and handed it to him.

“This is for you.” He said and then disappeared through the doorway into the med center.

Tobal unfolded the mangled envelope and stared at the writing on the front as a chill swept up his spine and he shivered violently. Written faintly with pencil in an erratic hand were the words: “To the son of Ron and Rachel Kane.”

Tearing the letter open Tobal puzzled out the crabbed hand writing.

“You don’t know who I am,” the letter began, “But I am a friend of your mother and father. This is my grandson, Crow, of whom I am very proud. He is much more than he seems. I am sure you will take care of him just as I took care of both your mother and your father in their own time of trial. I trained both of them and grew to love them very much. It was I that hand fasted them together and taught them the mysteries of bi-location and shamanism.”

“I’ve told Crow many stories about your mother, father and their work. He will tell you these stories when the time is right. But he knows them as the Lord and Lady. He also knows what lies hidden at the lake. He doesn’t know directly but will recognize it when he is there. I hope this will help your search for the truth. I owe your mother and father that much. I wish I could do more. There is help coming and justice will prevail, you must believe that. Some things simply take time! We will meet when the time is right and your questions will be answered.”

Brightest Blessings,

Howling Wolf”

Tobal was stunned. He sat on a cot and reread the letter in the dim light. He wanted to tear open the door and find Crow. Only the certain knowledge that the processing area would not allow such a thing prevented him from such hasty action. He was forced to think things through and the more times he read the letter the more cryptic it seemed to him.

He realized Crow couldn’t answer any direct questions about his parents but only relate stories about the Lord and Lady, whoever they were. Also, while Crow knew something about the lake, the letter said he would recognize it when he saw it and not be able to talk about it directly. For the first time Tobal wished he had the freedom to meet Howling Wolf in person and learn the truth about his parents. That was not possible right now and he was committed to his current course.

Tobal thought back on his meeting with Crow. He had introduced himself as “Tobal” and not “Tobal Kane”. How had Crow known to give him a letter addressed simply to “The Son of Ron and Rachel Kane?” Had Howing Wolf somehow known he would be here and be the one Crow would find? Or had the girls told Crow who he was and that he would be coming soon. Such questions made him uncomfortable and it was a long time before he was able to sink into a troubled sleep.

Morning came and Tobal set about making himself more comfortable while he waited for Crow to get through processing. It was amazing what a load of furs could do to add comfort and softness to the otherwise uncomfortable cots. The relaxation was a pleasant change. It wasn’t until he tasted the strange water and food paste that he regretted being there. The mystery surrounding Crow and his grandfather offered no ready solutions and his thoughts gradually turned toward other things.

In particular the weather gave him concern. It had been snowing steadily for two days and there would probably be places where the snow had drifted over his head. This was his first winter in the mountains and he didn’t really know what to expect.

Still, he knew the terrain he had to travel to get back to his base camp and in good weather the trip was hard. He had no idea what it would be like on snow shoes. At least he had brought along snowshoes and winter clothing for the boy too or they would really be in trouble.

He found a dried maple branch outside and began whittling out of boredom just to have something to do. He had in mind some small wood carvings to give as gifts to Nick, Melanie, Sarah, Crow, and of course Rafe. With that in mind he rough cut the branch into five pieces to be worked as time permitted. He envisioned small figurines like charms to be worn on a thong or cord around the neck. He had gotten the idea from some of the carvings he had seen during the last circle.

He wanted to give Rafe a fox since it seemed so appropriate. Rafe was cunning like a fox. He worked the rest of the day on the tiny figure and it gradually came to life in his hands. The carving was simple and recognizable as a fox although it lacked a lot of detail. The real work would be gradually smoothing the rich maple and polishing it to a fine finish. He was in the smoothing stages when Crow finally came out of the processing unit with his equipment and clothing.

Tobal was a little nervous about his first travel in deep snow and wanted to get started early. The days were getting shorter and there was only about six hours of travel possible during the day. They took extra rations from the food dispenser, enough to last each of them a week just in case there were problems. The nasty paste was divided into small cubes that could be added to water or eaten individually after they had been frozen. The benefit of the cold weather was many perishable food items would keep much longer, especially if they were frozen.

They started out using snow shoes and made good time. The sled pulled easily and they took turns pulling it. The snow had stopped falling and it was a bright day. It was almost too bright as he squinted against the glare. Tobal decided to keep to his normal travel path even though the snow suggested taking shortcuts over ground that now seemed smooth and snow covered. It was not worth the risk of falling into open holes or being trapped in some crevasse. At least following his normal path he would be familiar with any hazards that might lie hidden beneath the snow or ice.

Crow turned out to be a tough, wiry kid that could run circles around Tobal with or without a pack on his back. He was much lighter than Tobal and took to the snow shoes immediately. He said they were like ones his grandfather used in the winter. The boy seemed to have an endless supply of energy and crisscrossed the trail ahead of him checking out things that caught his interest. Crow had obviously spent a lot of time in the mountains and knew how to travel by landmarks. He had an instinctive awareness of direction even in bad weather. This worked against him at times. He did have trouble with the map and compass and understanding how to use them together.

“I know where I am,” he complained to Tobal. “Why should I need to know where I am on this piece of paper?”

Tobal was frustrated, “See this ‘X’ ,“ he pointed at the map. “That is where my base camp is and where we are going. How can you find it if you can’t read the map?”

“How can this piece of paper tell me where your camp is?” Crow retorted growing angry in turn.

They finally compromised when Crow was able to understand the map and locate the different landmarks on it.

“If I take you to the spot you have marked will you leave me alone?” he asked resentfully. “Will you let me take you there my own way?”

Two United

Now darkness and stillness are all around,
Now silence is everywhere,
Only the clock ticks softly,
And your heart beats peacefully.

The flame of our love,
lies quiet and clear as the stars.
A wonderful tranquility drifts
Across from you to me.

Does free will really exist? Are we slaves to a preordained destiny? These are questions that have occupied some of the greatest minds that ever lived. There are good arguments on both sides. Perhaps there never will be a correct answer but as time goes on we can get closer and closer to the truth.

I can think of at least four important factors that can be considered in this issue.

The first is the power of the human collective will and social structure. Like it or not society is greater than any individual and always will be. An individual can fight the collective will of society to a draw but they can never win. In the long run free will needs to be socially acceptable or it will encounter severe restrictions. We can’t just do whatever we want without accepting the consequences of our actions. In this respect free will is tied very closely to the consequences that it brings into our lives. We would like free will without negative consequences. Sometimes this is not possible.

“As above, so below” is a metaphysical axiom that describes how the normal flow of physical events is determined by astral events. Put more simply things happen in the astral planes first before they happen at the physical level. In my own life I have experienced this through precognitive dreams to the extent that I will dream about anything significant the night before it really happens to me. I do have precognitive dreams. “As above, so below” is a valid truth in my own life. This shows that astral events precede physical events but does not deal directly with the question of free will.

Lucid dreaming has shown me it is possible to affect change within the astral planes with a resulting change of physical outcome. I will give two examples from personal experience. I used to drive a big rig and haul cars. One night on the road I dreamed about narrowly avoiding a car by hitting the brake and turning the steering wheel.

It took an act of will to do this in the dream and there was considerable resistance. It was not something I just dreamed about, it was work and will being directed within the dream itself. The next day I narrowly avoided an accident with a car in a situation exactly as the dream had foretold. If I had not saved myself within the dream I would not have been able to save myself in the physical world.

In another lucid dream my feet were frozen or stuck to the ground and I could not move them. Through an act of will I fell over and by grabbing fistfuls of grass pulled myself along dragging my body and my feet into a new location. When you encounter resistance within dreams you are dealing with something that is very real and has force and energy behind it. Force of will can alter these things. This is one type of free will.

Lastly and most interesting is the power of physical activity and free will. The metaphor of a resonant circuit in electronics is very helpful in this illustration. Physical reality corresponds to the capacitive portion of the electronic circuit. The physical body and physical world can generate and store energy. The astral or non-physical planes correspond to the inductive portion of the circuit. Electronic theory tells us that altering either the capacitance or inductance will change the physical characteristics of the circuit. This is clear evidence that physical activity can make a powerful difference in the outcome.

Physical activity is closely tied to free will. An act of will and determination can change personal destiny. Physical activity can also change astral events before they become physical events. It does this through the generation of energy and injecting it into the astral where it works to alter pre-existing conditions.

Hard physical effort and the generation of massive amounts of energy can alter events in the astral and change the outcome but if you wait too long no amount of physical effort is enough. “As above, so below” is a cosmic law. Events will happen in the astral before they happen in the physical world. If we wait until they are happening in the physical world it is too late to change them! They need to be changed in the astral, not in the physical world.

I swayed as a wave of light swept over me and lifted me into an altered state. I had just finished a self initiation from one of my weekly Rosicrucian Monographs. The energy in my living room was incredible. I had never felt anything like it. My hair felt like static electricity was every where.

Slowly I opened my eyes. They were drawn to the center of the living room. A seated figure was floating about three feet off the ground. He was dressed in a robe and his aura radiated love and authority. He didn’t say anything but the message was clear. You have done well, you have earned this visit.

I didn’t believe what my eyes were seeing and carefully moved around the floating figure viewing it from every direction. It did not vanish or go away. It was very real. It lasted for an hour before fading away.

That is what the Rosicrucians were to me, very real. One of the things they taught was that humanity shared a single soul. We are all part of the same soul. We are all part of each other. The Collective Soul of humanity is very real and very powerful.

It has been known by many names. Ancients called the soul of humanity “Adam” or “Adam” and “Eve”. The “God” and “Goddess” are the guiding intelligences of the human race. They are very much human and very real. “Adam” is the male portion of the human soul and “Eve” is the female portion.

In their combined form they are simply termed “The Collective”, “Cosmic Consciousness” or “Cosmic Awareness”. To contact these divine intelligences is to achieve “Christ Consciousness”. This has always been the goal of mystics around the world. The Rosicrucians were just one school of thought but they were very real.

There are many schools that are real and each person will be drawn to the school that is right for them. Organic Gnosticism is such a school and will attract souls in harmony with its concepts and practices. Each must trust their hearts and instincts in this.

We share a common soul but like the human body there are many different systems. In the human body the circulatory system is different from the digestive system. The respiratory system is different from the nervous system. This is a metaphor that tries to show how belief systems can be radically different yet still valid in the greatest context.

Each system of thought, each school has a magic power or current that flows through it and through all individual members that belong to it. This current is real, this magic power is real. You can feel it when you come in contact with it.

Walking a solitary path is not valid in this sense. There are only a small handful of mystics and magicians capable of “bringing fire from Heaven” and tapping into the raw power of the cosmic. Even they need initiation into a valid school for early training and soul development. This training allows them to reach out even further to the Source. Everyone else needs initiation into a magic current of collective energy. This is done through membership in a valid school.

I was drawn to the Rosicrucian current and initiated into it at the age of eighteen. This was followed by later initiations into the Traditional Martinist Order, York Rite of Freemasonry and Ordo Templi Orientis.

It was the Rosicrucians that helped me in my journey across the Great Abyss. Organic Gnosticism is the “fire” that has been entrusted to me. It is the gift I have been given to share. Organic Gnosticism is a valid magic and mystical school. Its initiations are real and empowering. They bring a person in contact with the energy of the new eon that is now surging through this world.

You will know in your heart if this energy is compatible with the energy of your own soul. You will know if this knowledge is what you are seeking. The attraction or repulsion will be very real and very strong. Take a few minutes to reflect upon your own reaction to these words and sense their rightness or wrongness for you.

ELEMENTS WITH FOUR ELECTRON SHELLS

Element #36 Krypton
This element is an odorless gas and one of the noble gases. This element also has four complete electron shells. Because it’s outer shell is complete it serves as a natural barrier in it’s astral aspect. It resists attempts to pierce through it and is one of the veils mentioned in occult literature.
This barrier separates forth “chakra” energies from fifth “chakra” energies. It also stabilizes forth “chakra” energies.

Element #35 Bromine
This reddish liquid is highly reactive and easily vaporizes into a reddish gas that has a strong irritating odor. It is corrosive and poisonous and used as a disinfectant. The poisonous aspect suggests that this level is a painful one. The use as a disinfectant suggests healing and purging. A killing off of our harmful and self defeating tendencies and thoughts.
The public no longer supports us or believes in us and we learn the bitter lesson that we must rely upon ourselves for our strength and not upon others. Here is the foundation for self reliance and the pain of being alone.
This is the level of the heart and the blood system.

Element #34 Selenium
This element is required by humans and animals to convert fat and proteins to energy. It is also a semi-conductor of electricity when exposed to light and heat. These characteristics suggest that this level is an important energy source.
When we rely on ourselves we tap into this vital energy source and gain strength from it.

Element #33 Arsenic
This semi-metallic element is a deadly poison. This suggests pain and a type of death. Here we retreat into ourselves and reject others in bitterness and anger. We don’t want anything to do with anyone else. We want to be alone with our pain.

Element #32 Germanium
This grayish white metal is a semi-conductor and is very hard and brittle. This suggests that in this level we build protective barriers around us to keep other people out. We can reach out to others but they can’t reach in to us. The energy only flows one way.

Element #31 Gallium
This soft silvery metal has liquid properties over a wide temperature range and is similar to aluminum. Here we open up and reach out easily to others and allow them to reach us also. We share easily with others and are liked in return.

Element #30 Zinc
This shiny bluish white metal is used in alloys and as a protective coating. we learn not to take others so seriously and we are not so easily hurt. We take things with “a grain of salt”.

Element #29 Copper
This reddish orange metal has been is use for a long time. It is very useful and is vital to plant and animal life as well as a good conductor of electricity. It is used to improve soil and to destroy harmful insects.
These characteristics suggest that this level is very beneficial and that it involves a free exchange of energies between astral objects and life forms. Here is free and open communication and good relations with others.

Element #28 Nickel
This white metal is magnetic, polishes brightly, and does not tarnish. It is also used in coins. The magnetic aspect of this element suggest strong attractions and repulsions. The vortex aspect of magnetic energies suggest an “obsession” with one person and a “forgetting” about anything else.
Here we fall in love with someone else and become “obsessed” with them and our love for them.

Element #27 Cobalt
This metal is both hard and magnetic suggesting barriers and frustrations in love relationships with wild ups and downs. Spectacular attractions and repulsions. Our armor and defenses get in the way of our love relationships.

Element #26 Iron
This silvery metal is easily magnetized and combines easily with other elements. It is needed by plants and animals for life. This brings to mind the saying that “love conquers all”. Here our love for someone is so strong that it overcomes all obstacles preventing a successful relationship.

Element #25 Manganese
This brittle silver gray metal is required by plants and animals for strong bones and nervous systems. The brittleness suggests both barriers and armor. Its importance in bones and nervous systems imply structure and energy transfer.
This is the lowest level of thought and belief systems. Here emotional “love” gives way to conscious thought. We gain the ability to imaginatively think about things. Our thoughts form a structure and barrier that contains energy.

Element #24 Chromium
This glossy soft metal resists corrosion and is bright and shiny. It gives the color to gemstones. This suggests bright and shiny thoughts that resist corrosion. Here we find happy, colorful ideas and thoughts.

Element #23 Vanadium
This is an essential trace element and is strongly corrosion resistant. It’s essential quality suggests a strong tie to physical life. The corrosion resistant aspect allows the development here of a positive yet realistic conception of the world that resists the negative qualities of life.

Element #22 Titanium
This lightweight metal resists sea water and corrosion. It is quite strong. Thought structures and belief systems found here resist almost all attempts to change or alter them. Here is our basic outlook on life, positive or negative.

Element #21 Scandium
This is a soft white metal. Lack of any special characteristics imply this is a neutral area with no notable aspects. Here we can play around with ideas and juggle them around in any way we want.

Element #20 Calcium
This soft silvery white metal reacts readily with oxygen and water and is naturally only found as a compound. It is essential for strong bones and teeth in living things. The reactive aspect suggests a destructive quality that is essential for life.
Here our old “out molded” ideas and beliefs are destroyed and replaced with “newer” more successful ideas and beliefs. This is our ability to change our minds and to learn from our mistakes. This is indeed vital to our survival.

Element #19 Potassium
This element reacts readily with oxygen and water as well as with light. It is highly reactive and needed by all plants and animals. The violent reactive aspect of this element suggest that here our awareness is able to respond to emergency situations by rapidly escaping old behavior patterns and ways of thinking.
Emergencies require new behaviors from us.

In summary, this group of elements with four electron shells form fourteen distinct divisions.

DIVISION XXXII

This is the barrier or veil that separates third “chakra” energy from forth “chakra” energy. It “isolates” the “tank” current of this group of elements and tries to maintain the stability of this level of the earth’s astral layers.

DIVISION XXXIII

Here is the pain of emotional loneliness as others abandon us to our own devices and resources.
DIVISION XXXIV

This is an energy source as we tap into our own personal resources and become self-reliant. We learn to take care of our selves and live on our own.

DIVISION XXXV

We reject others and retreat into ourselves. We want to be alone with our pain and loneliness.

DIVISION XXXVI

We build walls around ourselves for protection and don’t let others in. If we want we can still reach out to others but it is a one way communication.

DIVISION XXXVII

At this level we slowly open up to others once more and begin to share energies. We accept energies from others.

DIVISION XXXVIII

At this level there is a good two way communication between ourselves and others. We have good friends and relationships with others.

DIVISION XXXIX

This is where we fall in “love” with someone and become obsessed with that person and exclude others from our life.
We experience magnetic attraction and repulsion.

DIVISION XXXX

Love conquers all here and we are able to overcome all barriers within the love relationship. We receive love as well as give it.

DIVISION XXXXI

The emotion of love gives way to thought energy. We begin to think here and our thoughts are bright and happy.

DIVISION XXXXII

Our thoughts are more realistic here and deal with our physical life and the events that we experience. We think about ways that we can better ourselves.

DIVISION XXXXIII

This is the realm of speculative thought as we try out new ideas in an effort to gain advantages in life. We try to think of new ways of doing things to improve our lifestyle.

DIVISION XXXXIV

Here is destructive thought and our ability to learn. We gain the ability to destroy and discard unsuccessful behaviors and ways of thinking. This is the ability to change our mind and wipe out old programming and replace it with newer more useful programming.

DIVISION XXXXV

This is the level of emergency thinking where we need to explosively break out of old ruts and come up with something new fast!

The spiritual light energy for the coming year officially begins after the winter solstice. That’s what makes this time of year so special. Many religions have had Messiahs that were born of virgins on the winter solstice So it’s not just a Christian thing. It’s kind of symbolic because that’s when the divine light pours into the earth for the coming year.

But there are cycles within cycles and it is extremely difficult to determine exactly when a cycle begins and ends, especially when cycles overlap or don’t overlap each other. These energies require closures and new beginnings and are like water taking every possible channel to return to the ocean.

The general idea is that we are each given the exact amount of new spiritual light energy that we can absorb at the winter solstice and that energy is then gradually used up over the next twelve months. By the time the winter solstice comes around many people have run out of their given supply of spiritual light and things turn pretty dark around Christmas. Some enlightened individuals have learned how to tap into the spiritual light of Source at all times of the year and these people never run out of spiritual light. But most people can’t do this.

The Christmas miracle is when our spiritual light has run out and we receive a renewal in some surprising way just in time to avert something bad happening. It is the spiritual light energy of grace and blessing. It doesn’t come to everyone, but it comes to those that have opened their hearts to it.

Today is the super moon, the full moon of December 3rd. This full moon marks the last final compression stroke of the astral planes before the new year. If we still have a supply of spiritual light at this point, we can slide on home! If our crown chakra’s are open and functioning we can begin absorbing and taking in the spiritual light energies of the coming year 3 weeks early as a form of grace or compensation.

From now until the New Year the astral planes are not compressing but relaxing and allowing new spiritual light energy to come in. For those still with spiritual light energy left things will begin to turn around in the Christmas miracle. This absorbing of new light is at the same time casting out darkness.

Those not in alignment with the incoming energies will be negatively affected by these last few weeks of the year. Those on the way down will find their hopes dashed as the same energies that uphold others casts them down. Many energetic traps are now being sprung and the results will tell if you are on the right side of the energies or the wrong side.

Everything points toward a crescendo of incoming ascension energies that will reach their peak on the winter solstice. This last couple of weeks will see an intensity of manifestation that will leave people in shock, for good or bad. Some are rising so fast they are dizzy with excitement and others are dropping so fast they can only watch in helplessness as things slip away from them, things that they were certain of.

We are going to continue with the history of the Church and how the general population reacted after it became standard practice for priests to be celibate. The Church then turned to an even bigger problem. The growing threat of logic and reason!

People were beginning to get into all this head trippy stuff and it was stimulating the philosophers into new debate about all kinds of things.

Now if every word corresponds to an idea and every idea contains an essence of true reality than the correct use of words as ideas and logic is the true science. This is the escape from reality which they created for themselves.

Let’s make everything in the mind and if it’s all in the mind then true science is in the mind as well!. You can go into the mind to discover the reality behind physical reality. That was their thought. So there was no longer any need to observe physical reality and its influences. They were free to ignore the physical and just focus on what is behind the physical. The true reality that exists in the mind.

Pay attention to your thoughts, because those thoughts are the ultimate reality. Just as the ego, the sense of self, or the watcher self, represents the soul or the true essence of who you are. But our souls are much more than mental energies! They also include or could include all the other energies of life experience as well. Living in one’s head is really an escape from reality and a delusion. It is the combination of the head and heart energies that bring compassion and love into the world.

So the elite, the educated, gave up thinking about the physical world and withdrew even deeper into their heads in a denial of physical life. They dug up fragments of Aristotle that had been translated by the Arabs and wrote commentaries on them. Then they wrote commentaries on the commentaries until these head trippers were able to logically prove the divinity of Christ and his martyrdom. You can prove anything you want using logic and reason! And then they proved that the entire Christian doctrine was based upon Aristotle and his philosophy!

The great philosophers of the dark ages were Thomas Aquinas and Duns Scotus. Thomas Aquinas brooded over the psychology of angels and Duns Scotus discovered the thinking machine in man.

What is the thinking machine? What it means is that people think like a machine. It’s like computer code created from associated thoughts that are all linked in some way.

If true existence is immortal and nonphysical it’s all in our heads anyway. Then words are things. Ideas are things. Every combination of words represents compilations of things and realities. This is just like computer code. I am reminded of Sigmund Freud with his theory of free association. One thought is connected to another thought is connected to another thought and there is a meaning behind those connections just like there is in computer code.

Awareness strings these things together, but the words and concepts have to be in the proper sequence to be understood properly. Putting words together in the correct sequence brings perception of reality just like getting the computer code right makes the program work properly and then things happen right. This is the idea of the thinking machine.

The logical sequence of associated words and ideas gives us the thinking machine and you don’t even need to think about it if you have the right code. If you have the right computer code you don’t have to think about it because awareness just goes where you want to go. That’s what the church was saying! That they were providing the correct code to the masses and if the masses would just believe what they told everything would be fine!

That was the plan, but logic and reason can only go so far and it led to paradox.

There are two sides to every equation and I know in my own life that when I’ve debated something all of a sudden I found that I was debating the other side when trying to prove a point. It’s a very slippery thing.

Logic and reason lead to paradox and that’s what the church wanted. They wanted the paradox to come in and then everybody would be stalled. Everybody would be trapped by the computer program of Church doctrine. They would be controlled and they wouldn’t be thinking their own thoughts. They would just be parroting computer programming code and so the church would be safe. Or so it thought.

Today’s world is doing the same thing. They are using words like computer code. They are using trigger words and always putting them in the same sequence so that people always arrive at the same conclusions. This is what politically correct is all about.

If you are fed the same string of ideas you are going to arrive at the same reality and it’s dangerous to break the computer code. That’s because you don’t know if you are going to end up in the same reality. You might end up thinking for yourself and that would be a bad thing!

Well for some of us that’s a good thing because we believe in self-determination. I believe in free will. I believe in trying to think for myself and I don’t like external authorities dictating what I should be believing and what I should be doing.

That’s just me personally. And I’ve always had a problem with external authority, but this entire concept, this concept about thought as a chain of association is very powerful. It was recognized by Sigmund Freud with his free association theory. Then Scientology improved upon it by going back on the timeline in memory to the first moment of pain.

It is important to recognize that this is real, that awareness travels lines of thought just like a computer and that it is in fact, an organic computer.

It is a kind of thinking machine. I’ve been amazed! I’ve been studying some computer programming and I am amazed at how similar the fundamentals are between coding computer language programs, and the way human thought works.

They were really onto something here, but there’s a problem because physical reality is organic and we live in a physical world. It may act as a machine as well. It may also react in a similar way to what computer code does.

But there has to be an association. The words that you use and the ideas that you use have to have an association with physical reality. Otherwise they are divorced from each other and that’s the trick.

What happens in the computer industry? I’m going to give this as an example. We are limited by the computer language we use. The programmer language that we use limits what we can do and every generation or so a new language is invented that’s more complex and that will allow us to do more things in our programming.

That’s what’s happening now. The natural evolution of thought is to find new words, and new associations, new thoughts, so we can do things that were never before even considered possible! Every new generation brings something new and that’s how humanity evolves!

“You’re going to travel with us to sanctuary aren’t you?” Nikki asked. “It will be a blast.”

“I might,” he said evasively. “I need to talk with Ellen first though and I might be running later than usual. If I’m not around just take off without me and I’ll catch up with you.”

“What do you need to talk with Ellen about?” Nikki asked.

“She wants to know more about when my base camp got burned by rogues.” He evaded by giving a simple answer.

“I remember that,” Melanie exclaimed. “That’s when we found the waterfall by the lake and that weird abandoned gathering spot. Tell her she can talk to me too if she wants. Say, have you ever gone back there like you said you were going to?”

“That’s one of the things I’m going to talk with Ellen about,” Tobal said. It’s pretty bad weather to go there now though. To easy to get snowed in.”

“Maybe we can all go there this spring some time,” Becca said. “I love swimming and there isn’t a really good swimming spot around here.”

“That’s a great idea!” Nikki said enthusiastically.

“Well just let me know so I can go with you,” Tobal said. “It might be dangerous and there should be enough of us going so no one will attack us.”

“Why would anyone want to attack us?” Nikki laughed. “You have something in mind handsome?”

The other two laughed and Tobal turned away with a dark shadow on his face. He couldn’t tell them the entire story or it would be all over camp and Ellen would have his head. It was better just to leave things the way they were for now. Misty was again High Priestess and did a nice job. Ellen was there and said she needed to talk with him later after circle. Angel was also helping out in the circle. There was a new High Priest too but Tobal didn’t remember his name.

Dirk was there along with Rafe on wood patrol keeping the fires going. There were several Journeymen Tobal recognized and many more he didn’t. This was the largest circle he had ever been too. Ox had even shown up for the party strutting three chevrons on his black tunic.

It was the end of the harvest cycle and the last time many of them would see each other until next spring so they were determined to have a good time. After the initiations the party really began. At drum circle the drumming and dancing went long into the night as people laughed leaping among the flames individually and together.

The festivities lasted three days with the last two days reminding Tobal of a flea market and county fair. People brought items to sell or trade especially beautiful hand crafted garments and tools. The most interesting were winter garments that made Tobal’s efforts seem crude in comparison. He examined them carefully and took mental notes so he could duplicate the work later. He did the same with other tools and items that caught his interest.

This was the time clan members would show off their creativity and individual talents. There was music, hand made stringed instruments and wooden flutes. There were of course the drums that beat out a steady rhythm deep into the night for all the dancers.

The second day was reserved for games and competitions. He was not surprised when Melanie won a knife throwing contest but he gaped in envy at the prize. It was a hand forged axe one of the third degree members had somehow created. With an axe like that work would go much more quickly than with stone axes and knives. It would help not only with firewood but also in the creation of bigger and more permanent shelters like log cabins.

It was also on the second day when female clan members got their annual birth control shot to prevent pregnancies. There were lots of sexual jokes going round the camp and open invitations. Tobal wondered more about this and asked one of the medics. The medic told him the city felt it was too dangerous to have children or raise children under these harsh survival conditions. People were free to have children once they became citizens but not before.

This was a rule that was strictly enforced and medics would fly their air sleds out to those females that had not attended this gathering. If they refused the shot, they were disqualified. This did happen, the medic told him. There were always 2nd degree couples content living as they were and wanting to raise families out here in the wilderness. In fact, there were enough of them that they had formed their own family type gathering spot two hundred miles to the West.

When Tobal tried asking more questions the medic shut up like he had already said too much and that he needed to be going. There was certainly a lot Tobal didn’t understand. He wondered if the dead camp at the lake had been a family one. He hoped not because the thought of dead children lying in that cairn made him feel sick. Still, in his heart he knew it had been a family camp because his own hospital bracelet proved he had been there just as Adam Gardner had said. The old man had talked about other children that had been murdered too. There were secrets out there, secrets he intended to find out.

It was on the last day the medics handed out special supplies and medicines like salt, wine, vitamins and medical gear scavenged from old med kits. Needles, hair brushes, combs, string and things like that were very welcome. So were scissors and razors, not to mention tooth brushes and other items that could be gotten at sanctuary.

“Ok, let’s hear it,” Rafe said cornering him on the last night. “You’ve been blowing me off all month, what’s up? Are you going to tell me what happened or not?”

They were sitting near the central fire in an area that was relatively empty of all but dancers.

“I see you’ve got some type of necklace,” he observed.

Tobal sighed and took it off his head handing it to Rafe. “It’s my mother’s necklace.”

“How do you know that?”

Tobal showed him the hospital tags.

Rafe looked carefully at the two tags and slowly handed them back along with the necklace. “I guess they are,” he commented. “What else did you find?”

Tobal slid the necklace back over his head and put the plastic tags back into his medicine bag before he unsheathed the dagger and handed it to Rafe.

Rafe examined the golden dagger wordlessly and turned it so he could examine the initials better. “Your father?” He asked quietly and gave it back to Tobal.

Tobal just nodded, blinking back some tears and a lump in his throat.
“Is there anything else?”

Tobal nodded and stood up. “Let’s walk a bit. We have to get away from camp first.”

Together they walked out into the woods where they had been hauling wood for the last month. It was about a half mile from camp and Tobal figured it was reasonably safe.

“Watch,” he pulled out the wand and pointed it at a nearby boulder they had sat on for lunch a few days ago. A bright red light showed briefly on the boulder and then vanished as Tobal pressed the fifth button.

“So what!” Rafe said. “It’s a little laser light. I used to play with them when I was a kid. I used to tease the cat with it.”

“Not like this,” Tobal said. “Come over and look.” He went over to the boulder and pointed at the small hole that went straight into the boulder and came out the other side.

“Damn!” Rafe whispered, running his fingers over the hole. “It’s not even hot.”

Tobal pointed the wand in the general direction of where they had been working the other day and pressed the second button briefly. Instantly the area fifteen feet in front of them was clear of snow and there was steam rising from the ground in the moon light.

“Holy shit!” Rafe exclaimed. “Put that damn thing away and let’s get out of here! What are you trying to do? Get us killed?”

Tobal put the wand back into the sheath on his left leg and they hurried back to camp in the moonlight retracing their steps in the snow.

“I found a secret cave,” he said. “It is where my parents used to meet secretly with a few others. It must have been the place Sarah’s father told me about. I found my parent’s things there and I also found the wand there. I couldn’t stay very long and explore so I left right away. I knew the air sleds would be looking for me and I wanted to be as far away as possible when they did.

“They found me about one half hour later,” he said. “Lucky for me it was Ellen and she was really pissed at me. At least she was at first. She made me take off my med-alert bracelet and did all kinds of tests on it to see if it was working right. Then she asked me what I had been doing by the waterfall. That’s when I told her I was coming back to where my old camp had been destroyed. She didn’t believe me at first but she took me to my old burned out site and I showed it to her. She wondered why I hadn’t told anyone about it. I said I had told you and that you had said it was not a good place to build.

“That’s when she told me it was a ‘forbidden’ site and I wasn’t supposed to be there. It was dangerous especially near the waterfall. I guess there have been lots of rogue attacks in that area.

“Now it gets weird,” he whispered to Rafe, looking around to see if anyone was listening. “She told me to get back to sanctuary and get a new med-alert bracelet as soon as possible so I did. I felt strange though like someone was following me so I slept in caves at night where my med-alert bracelet would not work and went as fast as I could during the day toward sanctuary.”

“There was someone following me,” He said. “I got to sanctuary and hid my stuff before going in to process. While I was processing three rogues searched through all my stuff and would have attacked me if I hadn’t broken my old med-alert bracelet.”

“Whoa, Wait up,” Rafe said. “How could anyone track you except the medics and why did you break your old med-alert bracelet?”

“When I got to Sanctuary and went into processing I took off my med-alert bracelet and smashed it. When I took it off an alarm sounded for the medics that said I needed help. When I smashed it, there was no signal at all so they sent three medics out to find me. When they got to sanctuary they saw three rogues dressed in black running out of sanctuary and into the woods. The rogues not only tracked me to sanctuary by my med-alert bracelet, they could also tell medics were coming and got away before they could get caught. Somehow they were able to track the med-alert bracelets.”

“That’s why Ellen thought it might be a good idea for me to just hang around with you guys getting up wood the rest of the month,” Tobal finished.

“It’s also why I didn’t want to say much of anything while Dirk was there.”

“I understand now,” Rafe said. “Does Ellen know about the things you found?”

Tobal flushed, “She doesn’t know about the wand yet. But she does know about everything else. I wanted a chance to examine it myself before I let anyone else see it.”

The Avalanche

All powerful, crushing all,
The avalanche thunders down,
It was a soft, tender flake,
In the beginning.

And the pain, that shatters me,
This dreadful fate,
Was in the beginning, only a quiet,
Barely perceptible glance.
