Then and Now
Like a torn out tendril
I fell captive to the power of your storm,
Giving way like a weak plank
Under the waves of your passion.
But now I tower, an oak,
On which your storm breaks powerless,
And, like a rocky cliff, I do not yield
To the force of your waves.
